Superb staff saved the day for this property The internal condition of the hotel and our room were lovely - but the external renovations are making the reception to room experience pretty horrible. Once these external works are completed all should be well I rate highly the door guys, bar staff and restaurant team (fantastic food) The reception staff fall short and are not helping at all with the issues arising from the renovation.

The Francis Hotel in Bath is beautiful and everyone made us feel welcomed. A highlight of my holiday, everything was perfect, and the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend the Francis Hotel in Bath!

Because the hotel was being renovated during my stay, it was very noisy in the morning. And there was no dinner service, which was inconvenient. We had to change our reservation from staying 3 nights to 2 nights. And the staff told us there would have no refund for this change.

This place is still being refurbished so there was scaffolding around and we had to walk through part of the building works to get to our room. However, our room was beautiful! Large and modern with a Chromecast TV. The breakfast was great and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was also perfect for walking anywhere in the centre of Bath. I would definitely come back here in future.

Special Wedding Anniversary break

It was our Pearl Wedding Anniversary which I had mentioned when I booked. We were pleasantly surprised ot find they had upgraded us from a Superior room to a suite!! Another unexpected surprise was finding a bottle of bubbly on ice together with a dish of truffles and macarons in our room! The room was enormous and was very clean. It was a refurbished room and bathroom and had everything we could want. Including a Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge with complimentary coca colas and still and fizzy water. The hotel is in the throes of being renovated but our stay was not impaired in any way. No noise, or building materials left about. We were also provided with complimentary buffet breakfast because of the building works. This was continental as well as cooked English breakfast. Absolutely more than enough to eat and choose from. We loved The Francis and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again!! Thank you

Seniors on the Town

Doorman went over & beyond to assist us. As Seniors, we very much appreciated his service. Bartenders were friendly & professional. Gave us suggestions for dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, they were closing. We asked & the young lady gave us another suggestion. Very good restaurant that should be added to Your Hotel suggestions. Beckford Canteen!! Fresh lamb, so delicious & tender, no need for a fork. Everyone gracious & accommodating. Fabulous experience.

Was aware of the refurbishment but was not aware I’d be woken shortly after 7am by workmen shouting and climbing scaffolding outside my window. Door hinges in ‘refurbished’ block need a full review - lots of doors slamming at all times. No soundproofing between rooms. Rain shower disappointing.
