We were given a “quiet” room at the back but it was noisy. Avoid room 16 as there is a noisy industrial extractor fan outside the window and you can hear noises from staff in a kitchen beyond midnight and starts again 6am

Room quite comfortable although many stairs and no lift. Car parking not guaranteed and parking spaces very tight for larger vehicles. Staff very helpful and friendly and breakfast good. Located in centre of town and close to bus stop.

Lovely stay

Nice place food very good and staff Excellent and attentive. Lovely building in nice surroundings with secure parking. Room has everything required however there was a few areas that could do with updating mainly the bathroom area. Bed was huge and very comfortable.all in all we very much enjoyed our stay here.

We had a great say. The pub quiz on Sunday night (I think it’s once a month) was really fun. Staff very welcoming. The Sunday roast looked great but we only ate for breakfast. It was great value for money would stay again.

Gorgeous Frome

Frome is a perfect market town to explore Somerset. The staff were very helpful and always happy to help. The food was excellent, plenty of choices for breakfast. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant too. Our room had parts of it that needed renovation but you could see that the hotel is a work in progress. This didn’t bother us because the room and the hotel itself were very clean. My only small complaint is that our journey would have been less stress free if we were given directions and information about the parking before we travelled. We kept going round in circles not knowing where to go before we found the location of the car park.

Great stay - thank you

On arrival we were greeted at the bar by a lovey gentleman whose name I believe was Wayne, he was very welcoming and great fun to talk to. The check in process was very easy and the room was everything we wanted. The location of the hotel was perfect, situated in the town centre. The food and service at the pub was great, certainly no complaints and we were very pleased to find “trickles” on the menu, something me and my partner were both very excited to try and they didn’t disappoint

Friendly hotel in the centre of town. Great stay here but late check in is linked to the opening hours of the pub attached to the hotel so need to make sure that aligns with your travel plans.

I think this room is a health hazard. Quite a lot of Black mould inside the window, other moukd on the ceiling above window. A lot of paint peeling off & fallen above bed, a lot of cracks & peeling on walls. In the shower above on the ceiling is further mould. I have a family member who’s developed life threatening conditions as a result of mould so I do not find it acceptable to rent out rooms in this condition. Even the curtain linings were all cracked. I have photos. I’d like a refund. I suggest this is rectified as an urgent matter.

Fabulous stay

Great staff, so friendly, good with allergies, impressive menu. Relaxed bar area, separate dinning room. Room was lovely, quirky with slanted door and uneven floors. Breakfast had lots of choice. Easy check out. Would definitely recommend and stay longer next time.

If you have mobility issues then l wouldn't recommend this property. To get to our room we had to encounter 28 steps upward and 7 downward. The evening menu was dire. No healthy options, however, when l requested a healthy ham salad l received 12 little gem lettuce leaves, 10 olives and chunks of fatty ham. No tomatoes, cucumber, cheese radish coleslaw or anything one might find on a {normal} salad. We paid £125 for three nights meals plus one pint of beer and one coffee. On a lighter note the cooked breakfast was amazing. It was cooked perfectly and the morning staff were so helpful and funny. Finally, if you are disabled then beware as there is NO parking near the George. You have to drive to a secure car park which means walking up and down a hill when going to or returning from the car park.

There were far too many stairs and communal areas were dark and dingy, the carpets seriously needed replacing. The food menu choice was poor with only 4 ok ish meals before the rest were vegan and vegetarian. On my first night I ordered the steak, I had seen a customer, who’s steak was fat and juicy, when mine arrived it was 1 centimetre thick and so tough I couldn’t even get my fork in it. I asked for my money back.
