We arrived after the LSU football game to learn they oversold for the night even though we had booked far in advance. We were thankfully given a room but my husband and I and our teen daughter had to share one bed. When we asked why the happened we were basically told it was because we booked through Expedia. We requested to speak with a manager the woman working was quite rude. We were told we would be called on Monday. So far...a week later... no call. In addition, the area felt quite unsafe. There is a house next door that has people loitering outside at all hours of the day and night. They spill over onto the hotel property. When we arrived after the LSU game (after 1:00 a.m.), they were walking around the parking lot with ski masks. (In Louisiana in early October when it is 80+ degrees out). I understand they have a right to be on their property but nothing is done by the hotel to keep them off hotel property.

When we arrived, there were several loiters around. They did not bother us, but it was unnerving. Inside the room the bed did not look freshly made, there was no toilet paper on the roll, no wash clothes or hand towels and the door did not lock. The a/c was off so the room smelled musky. It was "okay" but definitely not the cleanest.

While my stay at red roof was for only 2 nights the room itself was exactly what the online photo presented cleanliness and all. The staff had a willigness to help and great Customer Service is valued these days and times..upon my initial check in the television in my room wasnt working and 2 different male front desk clerks from different shifts as well as a male daytime manager couldn't resolve whatever the problem was. Upon stepping out on the 2nd days stay a female front desk clerk was also asked and presented with the television issue. After informing her of the other male coworkers who failed at getting me some television access she was given my room number and permission to go in when I returned later that evening my television was on and I told my husband it took 1 woman to do the job 3 men couldn't and smiled. That topped off my day. There is a coined washer and dryer available on site that I did use the front desk clerk had change for my one load it's currently $2 for each machine neither damaged or messed up any of our clothing as well as a snack machine but there are lots of stores and restaurants on that main road to where we didnt need to purchade from it. Overall any future return trips back home if I needed to get a room again I would definitely return and recommend others to get a room with them.

The staff was excellent. Excellent service. The staff assignment a room wasn’t ready, first impression the smell in the room was horrible. But the staff on charge fix the situation with proper service, and he apologized. The rest was excellent.
