The staff that help us very helpful and can understand english too. The room quite spacious and the location of hotel is everything, near to minimarket and restauurant. 👌👌👌
We arrived early in the morning and the room we booked was not ready..but the staff in charge was very kind as he offered us to check in into another smaller room for one night (with discount of course) so that we can rest before starting the day. The next day we were given the room that we booked which was very spaciois for 3 person. The towel and toilet paper were changed everyday and the place was clean in general..the only thing that was not that ok was the bath room floor will flood at times if you turn the shower in full. And there is no drain at the sink and toilet area,so if the floor gets dirty you can only wipe it and won't be able to wash it with water..else it will flood.. Overall,it was a good stay with good custimer service
Mr wang at the reception was great young lad lots of knowledge and very helpful nothing to much if asked would give you advice and help on trip subways etc hotel should be proud of the guy nice little hotel sitting in the centre of town within walking distances of everything would recommend feel like your in china and not in a 5 star hotel would like the hotel to have had a small bar ware you can get a drink and sit and chat think this would give them extr income but overall good clean and welcoming use the hotel transport it helps

The location was very good! Our room needed some care and it looked very used. Would pay more next time to stay somewhere much nicer.
The hotel was a good cheap hotel, staff amazing and go out of their way to help you. Easy location for eating, shopping and metro. Good wifi, The only thing I didn’t like was the shower is over the toilet.
Lobby Staffs speak English, helpful except one guy behave arrogant, did not respond to our needed information. It was later provided by Ms May Hui, Excellence. Location is good, walking distance to MRT station, shopping, supermarket, eateris .
The room and environment are clean and quiet. Location is quite secluded from the train station with about 10 minutes walking distance. It will be good to have self-laundry service available. Overall was a pleasing stay for small family.
Room was a good size, very clean with housekeeping everyday, the ayi even tidied for us! If a fridge was available in the room then it would've been perfect. Location is great, just 5 minutes away from Dongsi station.
PS: There's an absolutely stunning Beijing hotpot restaurant near one of the entrances to Dongsi station, it is a must to visit!
We saw a lot of good rating so we booked this hotel. I think it would be good if you face no problem. You don't really know how good service is until there is problem. We arrived the hotel around 7:00pm, right after a big tour group of young people. They told me our room didn't have hot water and they're willing to give us an upgrade room at no extra cost. I forgot what type of room I booked at the time so when they show us our new room, a queen bed with a stow away bed for 3 of us. I have no choice but take it. The next day, after we have rested and checked my booking, I booked the family loft room with the two bed, real bed, not stow away bed, on the loft and main floor with sofa. I told them I want to refund the difference. They didn't allow. I contacted hotels.com and they couldn't get them to refund me the money neither. Hotels.com did offer me coupon for future booking out of their pockets.
Aside the problem we have, the hotel looks nice and clean. But the construction is not good. It have problem with hot water during our staying. We can smell raw sewer from the sink (the drain is missing the p trap). It's located inside a narrow alley a little far from subway station and hard for taxi. No good place to eat near by. This seems to be a place for big tour group so it's not good for private or family.
Lovely hotel, great location, friendly staff and clean rooms and great value for money. Only downsides were that there was no fridge in the room, and the window looked into the kitchen meaning we had to keep the blind shut all of the time.

A very different experience
Hu Tong living experience brings you closer to the local life. Not too far way from the station and plenty of eating options if you're willing to explore the area. It's convenient to travel to various tourist sites and shopping areas.
It was 3 of us friends and we took the family loft, fortunate enough to be upgraded to a family loft with extra queen bed! We had a great stay. Hotel is clean although its around a Hutong (daily cleaning). Area is good, 5 mins walk to Dongsi station. To wrap it up, I highly recommend this place for couples, group of friends and families. Thank you for making our stay an amazing one. - I'm Malaysian btw.
If you want to experience the real Beijing in a comfortable western standard hotel you should try this place.

Beijing/Shanghai getaway
Good location! Close to two subway stations! Though the loft room was cosy enough for 3 people there was not sufficient space for luggage and no closet just hangars n a coat rack! No bottled water! Kettle provided.Overall clean and quiet Hutong with plenty of food shops around.
They put me in their second hotel which was located 200m down a busy alley or as they call it a Hutong. At night it is pretty dark there. Most of the staff don't speak English specially during off hours and they use their cell phones to translate, so some simple conversation may turn into a longer cell phone swapping experience. Don't fall for the breakfast included thing as it is not worth it. A better hotel without breakfast at the same price may be a better alternative.

Would not recommend
I stayed in two types of rooms in this hotel for three nights. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes’ walk to the subway station and is within a walkable distance to the downtown shopping area. It is also pretty affordable. However, the hotel room has very poor acoustic insulation. I could hear my next-door neighbors chatting and snoring while lying in bed. Cleanliness is another concern. There is mold on the ceiling of my room, and the curtain has stain on it. In addition, the cleaning service definitely needs some improvement. The cleaning staff took the towel on the second day but did not replace it. I called the front desk to ask for a clean towel, and the receptionist said that a staff would bring me one shortly, but no one ever came. The cleaning staff also forgot to put the toilet paper in the bathroom on the third day, and I had to go to the front desk to ask for one. I would not choose to stay in this hotel again.

So many people smoking around my room. It is really annoying and hotel should prepare a 'do not disturb' sign for rooms because the cleaning ladies will keep knocking the door in the morning.
Wifi speed here was best out of the three hotels i stayed in Beijing, including the sister hotel 161 on the corner of Lishi Hutong. Staff was nice and spoke english well enough. You are maybe 4 mins walking from the metro and the hutong experience is (obliviously sanitized) but well worth it. Room renovations are ideal and bathroom was clean. Paid around $50USD and i think it is a bargain.
