Iconic Hotel and Location

We were in Berlin for the World Money Fair. 3 night stay at the Adlon. The location is perfect for any first time visitor - right adajacent to Brandedburg Gate. Check-in was a nice welcome, although as we were early one room wasn't ready. No mention of upgrade, despite my top level of expedia loyalty. No probs, though. The room was fairly average, despite paying for third best option. Two single beds instead of the requested king bed. The room keys are pathetic. Someone on a 'green crusade' has decided to make the room keys these thin cardboard type things that soon get ruined or soaked if in a damp roibe. They need to go back to plastic room key cards and forget the silly green climate saving options. The spa at the hotel opened again a few months ago. The steam room is excellent. The restaurant on ground floor in the hotel is good food and service. Breakfast is on mezzenine floor - it is a substantial offering. Good service. The bar is in the main lobby area. It gives the hotel a more homely feel.

The most wonderful hotel with amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble, my husband got ill while we were there and they were so caring and went out of their way to help us with anything we need. Beautiful hotel and the breakfast was incredible!

This is a 5 star property with a great location. Near attractions and located on a main street (Linden) with numerous shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was very professional, helpful, and personable. Would highly recommend this property to anyone (tourist or business) visiting Berlin.

This hotel is fabulous in every aspect. From the moment you enter until leaving. The staff are so eonderful. Michi and Stefan were exceptional people. They made us feel special. Too many staff to recollect but they were all very professional and very helpful. We love this hotel. We hope to be back.

There was no vip treatment at all. Check in we had to wait till 2.38 to get room instead of 3 pm although we arrived at 11.15 am and we asked if possible to get room earlier. Upon arrival i asked to check out at 3 pm if possible was told they will put a note but i have to check the next day.the next day was told to check the day of departure and finally was told this was not possible. Didn’t see any vip treatment. Hotel is wonderful, personnel is experienced but it depends to whom you will have the luck to talk to. They are all very polite but some are quite tired and it shows. Especially at concierge where the head concierge is amazing , some others leave much to be desired.
