Great inexpensive small room in great location
Excellent location between Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate, clean, surprisingly quiet, and reasonably priced. Like most small European hotels, the windows can open for fresh air. (As an American I am not used to this, and appreciate it when I find it!) The room was quite compact, which is fine for one person alone, though two might find it a bit confining. I had to lock the safe door to keep it out of my way. That, and the entrance being easy to overlook, are really the only drawbacks. I would definitely come back if traveling solo to that area again. (Maybe even if not solo; I didn't look at the prices and sizes of larger rooms.)

Funky, well-designed hotel about a block away from Checkpoint Charlie, which allows easy access to taxis and buses. Several coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Ten to twelve euro taxi ride to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Exceptionally clean room and bathroom; shower water hot almost immediately.

Berlin is a huge city, select the location if your hotel carefully. Gat Point Charlie is very central

The hotel was centrally located to all the things we wanted to see in Berlin- Checkpoint Charlie, the Wall, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, etc. The room had A/C!!!!! WooHoo! Bed was comfortable. Had a vending maching with expensive but cold drinks. All plusses! Now for the down side- Parking. Expect to walk about 15 minutes to the nearest 24/7 parking deck. We spent about 55 euros for just shy of 48 hours. Check-in took about 30 minutes due to one desk clerk to about 20 guests, but it did go smoothly once we finally got our turn. Our one Pet Peeve: The desk clerks calling our room and waking us up while we were trying to sleep to tell us we had a package at that front desk. My husband insisted that we did not. The caller said ok, then called back a few minutes later and literally argued with my husband insisting we had a package. My husband had to ask what name was on the package, the caller said "Your name", my husband then gave out our last name and then the caller said that was not the name on the package (Basically wrong room number- the desk staff never checked to see if the name on the package matched the name of the guest in the room). VERY ANNOYING.

Thin walls, limited room lighting, small mirrors (2 tall skinny ones), the staff was a hit or miss. But the area was accessible, easy to get to the tour bus, nice bar, nice buffet, the mall of Berlin is within walking distance, and if you learn how to use the train, you will be alright. The hotel has free water (hot and cold) on certain floors. They provide cups, sugar, and the tea. The restaurants are Vietnamese and Italian. Nice seating outside the front.
