Sic transit gloria mundi

Das Hotel liegt wenige Gehminuten vom Hauptbahnhof Berlin entfernt in einer relativ ruhigen Ecke der Stadt. Es ist modern und zweckmässig - aber auch etwas nüchtern eingerichtet. Grosses Plus sind meiner Meinung nach die Laminatböden, welche viel hygienischer sind als Teppiche. Die Zimmer verfügen über ein kompaktes, zweckmässiges Badezimmer mit Dusche und einem geräumigen Waschtisch. Das Bett war sehr bequem und das Zimmer machte einen sauberen Eindruck. Was mir weniger gut gefiel, war die Verlagerung der Arbeit hin zum Gast: so soll man selbst einen Online-Check-In machen (der dann doch nicht funktionierte...) sowie einen Online-Check-Out (der auch nicht so recht funktionierte). Das Zimmer wird standardmässig nicht mehr täglich gereinigt. Wenn man dies dennoch möchte, muss man dies aktiv bei der Reception verlangen - es gibt nicht einfach ein Schild, das man an die Türe hängen kann ("Bitte Zimmer reinigen"). Da werden wohl Sparmassnahmen unter dem Deckmantel des Umweltschutzes vermarktet - zumindest entstand für mich der Eindruck. Da ich auch kein ÖV-Ticket mehr erhielt (war früher einmal der Standard), hat für mich dieses Hotel doch einiges an Servicequalität eingebüsst - ohne aber entsprechend günstiger zu werden. Da kann sich das hilfsbereite und freundliche Personal noch so sehr bemühen, diesen schalen Beigeschmack wird das Hotel nicht los. Aber wer gut am HB Berlin schlafen möchte, der ist hier ganz ordentlich aufgehoben.

Central Hotel for transport

Good Hotel very close to the station Central.Berlin.Tour buses stop close by too.Staff friendly and food in Restaurant good.Plenty of food outlets at the station if you would an alternative.Rooms clean and tidy along with the bathroom with a good power behind the shower.The window does open so you have either Air con or fresh air.Tv has no English channels so bring a tablet or lap top.The only disappointment was no kettle for tea and coffee making.To walk to Brandonburgh gate will take approx 15 mins along the river
