The location is good. But don't believe the good reviews. The place is not remodeled since 80's or 90's. The floor of the room was filthy, left my kids feet pitch black. The shower leaked, the sinks had cracked lining, the dishes in the kitchen had dried remainings of food, the corners of the walls had cobwebs, the sheets were stained. The pool was closed for season but was abandoned and green. The plants around the property also need to be trimmed.
Absolutely loved our stay here it was very clean and quiet overall. Also very convenient you’re in the center of everything and if you don’t feel like driving everything is close by you could just walk. I would definitely stay here again!
Room was kind of small, walls are very thin so you can hear the people in the rooms next to you talking, when they go to the bathroom etc, it is not quiet at all… room had a fire place which was really nice!.

Walls are thin, can hear people in surrounding rooms. Bed was not comfortable.
Absolutely loved my stay here! My room was extremely clean everything worked great and the beds were extremely comfortable. Short walk to the village and so close to the lake!! Loved the hot tub and fire place overall it was such a romantic get away! I will definitely be back and i highly recommend staying here!
At the front desk, the worker wasn’t friendly and told us to wait for 20-30 minutes to check in which we supposed to check in at 330pm.
The shower tub and tub are cracking. The back door knob is loose. The bed isn’t good.
Nice outdoor.
This property is located within walking distance to The Village. There are shops and coffee shops nearby. However, the buildings are run-down and the walls between the rooms are so thin you can hear everything the neighbors say. I was very disappointed that the property did not match the pictures online.
The heater was old when it was turned down , it rattled like freight train . The window had a flimsy curtain on it , so let in light at night . I don’t think we had the room that we thought we were getting . Would not recommend
We stayed in the renovated studio suite. It had a cute French country vibe. Beautiful bed frame and nice balcony over looking town. Our room faced the noisy front road which was busy throughout the night on the weekend. It calmed down on Sunday night. I had to use white noise to sleep through the night. The heat came from a beautiful ambiance fireplace. The price was exceptional per night. It’s a 10 minute walking distance to The Village which is fun and beautiful to visit. The Big Bear Roasting Coffee company was a minute away and we loved going there. There is a yummy Crepe kiosk place close by too. The Black Forest Lodge breakfast consist of juice, coffee, tea, hard boiled eggs, bagels and waffles. Overall experience was good, they allow dogs and we felt that the outside area smelled too much like dog poop. We think they can remedy this by putting out “pick up your dog poop” signs with provided dog poop bags and trash cans.
The pics looked nothing like our room. It was definitely still decorated from the early 80,s and though you could tell it had been cleaned. It didn’t feel clean because it’s soooooks with stained carpets. . I also chose this because it shows a great picture of the outdoor Jacuzzi. Which we were then told there’s no jets and the heat is natural at 97°.
