Loved the western decor in this hotel (although some of the rooms definitely need new carpeting i think - ours was a bit dirty in the corners. Maybe just a shampoo would suffice?) Otherwise the room was great. Comfortable bed, plenty of pillows & towels. The bathrooms was a bit tight & dated (think 1970s orange countertop with mustard colored sink - see photo) - but everything was clean and plenty of supplies. Some people have commented about safety of neighborhood or parking. Yes, there are a few homeless wandering around (just like any big city) - but the parking was completely enclosed within the U-shape of the hotel (and thus very safe). Overall - i think this is a pretty good deal for ~$100.

We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great and the bed was comfortable. The toilet and sink were short so it made us feel tall. The hotel was quiet which we appreciated. It is within walking distance to great restaurants. We would stay again.

Awful just gross dirty old and dingy. No restaurant as advertised. The smell is musty. It’s right next to the County Jail/detention center. There are so many homeless, vagrants and criminals around it’s not safe. We walked in and walked out in about 45 minutes. Ended up leaving the keys on the desk and got another hotel room.

Conveniently located and affordable. Very dated property and could use some touch ups. My toilet ran constantly despite my efforts to adjust the flapper. Neighbors spent all night smoking weed and i could hear their tv all night. Bed was comfortable and i felt safe staying here. Decent value for what you get. Left before breakfast started so no comment on the complimentary breakfast.

When I go to Billings, whether for medical or to catch a flight, I stay at the Dude Rancher. It's clean, convenient to medical offices, to downtown restaurants and theaters, and close to the airport. Best of all, it is most affordable. One can pay a lot more but yet get no more for their money.

The hotel itself is quite old and run down, but very clean and the staff is amazing, so was worth the stay! The first room was in the motel sectiom and sketchy to say the leadt, but was clean. The person next door had at least 2 dogs. One large and one small, who were barking like crazy. We had our girl as well, who was freaked out from all the noise. The phone also did not work in that room.The girl that took care of us accomodated our moms needs and upgraded us to a main floor suite with 2 queens instead of 2 doubles so we could get a good nights sleep. The A/C did not work, so we had to sleep with the windows open, which was a bit scary. The area is near downtown with a lot of homeless around. Sketchy area. If you have a dog, dont walk behind the hotel... theres a lot of broken glass.
