I’ve stayed in some bad places. This one was in the top 3 of worst ever. When I went into the room I noticed that the curtain was only hanging by a few hooks and sagging down. I walked into the bathroom to discover that the toilet seat wouldn’t stay up, no big deal. Then I looked at the towels and washcloths hanging above the toilet, dirty looking with black stains. I looked in the tub and there was black and red mold and algae around the drain on on the shower curtain. I turned the covers back in the bed to see that there were no pillow cases on the pillows. I covered the pillow and laid down only to see wires hanging from the ceiling above me where the smoke detector should have been. I later decided I wanted something to drink so I walked down stairs to the ice machine… which didn’t work. I walked to the office to ask if there was another ice machine, or where I could get some ice. The guy told me sorry there is no ice the machine is broken. I realize this was a cheap room but no ice and dirty linens is really ridiculous. The next morning when I was asked how my stay was and I told the guy at the desk his response was well what do you expect for $50. This ain’t the Beau Rivage. I told him that I didn’t expect it to be but I did expect to have clean linens and pillow cases on the pillows. He got very defensive and said well where else do you think you were going to stay for $50? Price shouldn’t determine whether you clean the rooms and stock them with clean towels.
