The pool area is awesome!! My only complaint was the front desk is so far away that you have to get in your vehicle and drive over or walk a long way. My key wasn’t working, so it was a giant hassle to go downstairs, still wet from the pool and walk 2 blocks to the front desk b/c my car keys were locked in my room.

Growing up in Gulfport, the Oasis Resort is part of what was once the VA Medical Center situated on the beach. It is an amazing collection of buildings that have been repurposed into a resort complex now known as Centennial Plaza. Intrigued by its history, I was thrilled to book a room at the Oasis, but my troubles began soon after check-in. The room I was originally given was quite lovely with wonderful views of the Gulf of Mexico. On my second trip to the room from the car with my belongings, my key no longer worked. The Welcome Center quickly gave me another key, which worked, but not long after I returned to the room, a couple entered using a key given to them. How can this happen? I was then told that I needed another key, which was delivered under my door. Room instructions advise guests to secure valuables in the room safe, which I could find nowhere. I was told the safe was in the closet, which was not true. I was informed that security would bring me a safe. A security guard arrived and revealed that the safe was located in a dresser drawer. The safe was nice and spacious but, unbelievably, was not bolted in place. I could have easily picked it up and carried it from the room if I wished to do so. And now the worst part… When I returned to the room after attending a local event, I prepared for bed only to notice that my bed was covered with ants. How is this possible for an establishment that bills itself as a resort? Great concept but much to be desired.

The Oasis Resort was a great stop for our one-night stay in Gulfport. It is literally across the street from the beach (you do have to cross a busy road, but it is lighted) and is easily accessed from town. It is a large, clean property and would be perfect for anyone with small kids. The staff was exceptional. My only reason for 4 stars is the linens were dirty. Several towels and one of the pillows had stains on them. Given we were just passing through, we didn't ask for replacements. Overall this is a great, quiet place for a family stay.

Upon checkin opened the door to our hotel room and the smell of mold and mildew almost knocked us out! Call front desk to move to another room, nothing available in building. Said they would send cleaning crew. Got back in my room at 9:30 pm and no one had showed up to clean. At 10 pm someone came and sprayed deodorizer for 5 minutes. My husband and I are both now sick. The next morning at 7 am miraculously there were other rooms available. I feel I should be reimbursed for first night! Awful conditions for exorbitant price we paid!

This property is very convenient to entertainment nearby and the pool experience is a nice plus. This is not our first time to visit. I was disappointed in an incident with an injured child at the pool are and the responsiveness of the staff, the cleanliness of the bathroom in the room, and the lack of towels at the pool 2 hours before close. Tv did not function properly, towels requested never made it to our room, and texting system for guests was very delayed or no response was given at all. I’m sad to say this will not be our go-to anymore.
