"The Hotel de Rome is a beautiful property, but our experience was affected by an unfortunate incident at check-in. The hotel entrance has stairs with no ramp, requiring luggage to be lifted by hand. The bellboy was carrying a large suitcase in each hand and accidentally hit mine against a step, breaking the handle." "What was most disappointing was his reaction. Instead of apologizing, he tried to downplay his mistake and even insinuated on the way to our room that the suitcase was already broken, which was very unpleasant. After I insisted, the staff took the bag and repaired the handle. Management also credited €50 to our hotel bill for the inconvenience. While the issue was eventually resolved and compensated, the lack of an initial apology and the staff's defensive attitude did not match the service standards expected from a five-star luxury hotel."

Short business stay. The room was great. Spacious, stylish and a good nights sleep. I would stay here again.

Overall, the hotel was very clean. The room was small but fine for one person. It’s a quirky place in terms of decor which I liked. I thought the buffet was OK but the selection was average. The fellow who checked me in on Saturday afternoon was very charming, helpful, and informative.

Honestly this could have been a 5 star review. Everything else was perfect… But the shower ruined my experience. The shower head was terrible and flimsy, it kept moving around while trying to shower, which in combination with a shower screen that didn’t meet, left the bathroom constantly flooding. It was also impossible to take the shower head off to wash myself properly… it was super glued on… like who is trying to steal your terrible cheap shower heads. Luxury stay, comfortable bed and facilities, budget motel bathroom. Cleaning myself properly is one of the most important factors of a hotel stay, make some improvements.
