It’s a beautiful building. Sadly, the inside is run down and dated. Bedrooms were okay, very sub par. Tea and coffee facilities in room are poorly presented and just left in a heap. Not the be all and end all but it’s good to pay attention to the little things.
It is a lovely old and interesting building, although the decor ie carpets etc are a little tired looking and could do with a refresh. There isn't a lot of staff so sometimes you need to go looking for someone to help. Restaurant and bar food menu is limited and a lttle expensive.
Room ok very clean, 2 flights of stairs a bit too much, breakfast ran out of eggs ! Plates were cold needs a plate warmer, ran out of pastries

They sent an email fao of my husband even tho i had booked it. We were put in a ground floor disability room, next to public toilets and a very busy corridor. We could hear the toilets flush, the running taps and the hand driers. The corridor was very busy and we didn't get a good nights sleep. The staff were lovely and it was all clean. From the car park there wasn't any clear signage to the reception area.
Beautiful property and or room was wonderful. However the night we checked in there was a wedding reception that held a lot of people. We were unable to enjoy that grounds that evening due to the amount of people there, also the vehemence not finished until close to 11pm. This was not fun for us as our two children struggled to sleep. I would have liked to have been notified of this event as we may have chosen a different hotel more so for the lack of sleep my children had.
Lots of parking, but had a qedding on so difficult to find somewhere, also not a single disabled space available and all majority of cars using them had no blue badge.
I have some mobility issues and was at the 2nd floor with no lift. My fault as i hadnt informed them. Lovely gardens and impressive hotel. Excellent breakfast
