Hotel rooms were comfortable, roomy and have plenty of extras. Tea/coffee facilities plentiful, toiletries supplied very high quality. The bed was fabulous, very comfortable and cozy. Restaurant was a great experience, food very tasty and good portions. Staff all excellent. Friendly, polite and knowledgeable.
I like Himley House. It’s been my go to in the area.
They’ve spent a fortune on refurbishing the rooms but let themselves down this week with poor service in the restaurant.
Staff appeared aloof. I was ignored by restaurant staff who all walked past and no one even acknowledged me as I waited.
Slow service although they didn’t appear too busy. Starter arrived before my drink had arrived.
Main course had been sitting under the heat lamps for a while judging by the temperature of my side salad and plate.
No Wi-Fi from about 9pm until 8.30am which was a pain as I had work and phone reception was poor.
Room was boiling and window had been screwed shut so unable to cool it down or let in fresh air.
Window outlook would have been ok but builders had dumped a load of rubbish outside.
Considering how much money has been spent it’s a little disappointing to be let down by poor customer service and irritating minor defects.
I’m hoping this is just a temporary blip and normal service will be resumed.
