Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff, clean, updated room in an obviously older hotel. I especially love that the chain is pet-friendly. The rooms seemed very soundproof to me; although I could hear my TV when I left the room to get ice, I couldn't hear anyone else's TV nor any other noise, and based on the parking lot, they were fully booked. The breakfast was nice, with a good selection of items: eggs, muffins, cereals, bagels, bread for toast, waffles, fruit, yogurt, juice. I had the scrambled eggs when they were freshly made and thought they were delicious. My sister got them later after they'd been sitting out for a while and she said they were cold and not good. Obviously, if they're sitting out for any length of time, they're bound to get cold, but as for their taste, I think my sister is just picky; they tasted fine to me. However, the hard-boiled eggs looked VERY sketchy and unappetizing. It would have been nice to have either bacon or sausage to go with the eggs or the waffles, but otherwise, no complaints from me. What I didn’t like was that one of the doors leading to the outside of the property was not locked even though it had a sign stating that all outer doors were locked for security and had to be opened with a guest's key card. Also, despite the fact that it was advertised that the beds have memory foam mattresses, the beds were extremely hard and ungiving. Not very comfortable. But overall, I was very pleased with LaQuinta and would stay here again.

They really did not have a good selection for a breakfast. We were in town for a family reunion and when some of my family members met up one gentleman at the counter told us to keep it down. I thought that was incredibly rude since we just met up for a brief moment and it was a family reunion for people who have not seen each other in over ten years. The rooms were very clean and it is a very dog friendly hotel.

Surprising Signs of Neglect

The building was being renovated—which is good because it was surprisingly run-down. The lobby elevator looked like it had never been cleaned. There were all kinds of scratches in the paint on the walls. In my room, the bathtub was stocked with two containers of conditioner but no soap. In the morning, breakfast was delayed by an hour (for the holiday, they said) with no advance notice posted, so I didn't get to have the breakfast I paid for before I had to hit the road. Nice staff, though.

When I checked in, I noticed the left armrest of the chair in my room was broken and had some kind of sticky, unknown glue on it, and it looked really disgusting. I went to the front desk to ask for a replacement, but their response was, "No worry, we won’t charge you." What?!!! I just got into the room and it has been broken. What I wanted was just a usable, clean chair. I explained again that it was broken and had something gross on it. On the second day, someone came to my room and removed both armrests, but never replaced the chair. Then, on the morning of my checkout, I found a cockroach in the bathroom. It was lying on my lipstick. I had to deal with it myself, so I could wash up and leave. I ended up throwing away the lipstick, and honestly, the worst part is that you never know where the cockroach had crawled. It might have even touched my toothbrush. It left me feeling really really uncomfortable.
