2nd time around still no change

Or stay on this occasion was the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel and we were disappointed. We stayed all inclusive and initially had a very nice executive room but then a leak from bathroom ceiling transferred into living area so we had to move which left us with hard beds and different sized/feeling pillows Facilities were at first declined and asked us to pay but after going back to reception our room card was stamped and then enter was allowed for free Restaurant: exactly same menu as our first stay a couple of months before, not catered for children or vegetarians. Asked for a sausage to be made for my daughter as there was only fish and another meat but the chef declined to do so and desserts was one choice only with no other options. Breakfast was acceptable. So requested food package money back on this occasion Other than this the hotel and friendliness was good and it’s a lovely visual place for weddings and birthdays but no entertainment.

Great overnight stay and nice pool facilities

Comfortable bed and room. Bathroom was modern looking and clean. First room we were given smelled of smoke and may have been a smoking room but we were non smokers and so we were given a new room straight away. The breakfast was lovely and there was plenty to choose from. Our main reason for selecting this was it being 15 minutes from Birmingham airport. We were able to check in at 4am after our flight and there were staff on hand at this time. It was a bonus having the pool on site which we used the next day for a £4 charge.

Not good. Reception is very nice but once you pass that, the corridors and rooms are very run down - the whole place needs some TLC. I had to move rooms due to an infestation of flies / flying ants in my bathroom. Stayed for two nights and room wasn’t cleaned overnight, asked why at reception and was told that rooms are only cleaned every 4 days!

Reasonably priced and within easy access of the CBS Arena. Breakfast was decent with plenty of hot food. On this occasion, I was in the older part of the hotel, which was quite a trek from reception. The room was adequate, with a decent shower. Ideally, a few power outlets close to the bed for phone chargers, etc., would have been useful. Only one useful socket in the bedroom meant unplugging either the TV or the kettle to charge any devices. The view from my room was of the unattractive bin store compound and the location where staff took smoking breaks. As a result of the proximity of the bins, the staff emptied their glass collection units into them, making a shatteringly loud noise. For some reason, this was done very early in the morning.

Lovely place to stay

My stay at this hotel so far: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars – A Charming Stay with Character A lovely olde worlde hotel that oozes charm and warmth, complemented by pleasant and attentive staff. The facilities are well-kept, and there are definite signs of a recent refurb, which adds a fresh touch while preserving its classic character. However, one can’t help but notice the very thin partition walls. Through them, one becomes intimately acquainted with the nocturnal habits of fellow guests—from robust ablutions to animated personal phone conversations. A group of women in a room quite a distance away could be heard cackling joyously well into the early hours, providing a sort of impromptu audio drama to lull one to sleep. Less entertaining was the gentleman holding court on his phone about a woman who, it seems, had flicked him off at the bar—she may well have been within earshot. Despite the unintended eavesdropping, this is a truly interesting and delightful place to stay. Full of character, quirks, and stories waiting to happen. It gets my five stars. 🤩

I stayed in a single bedroom and they’ve given me a room in the old attached which is very dirty. I took a video of it and the bed was so small. I kept slipping out of it. The bedroom furniture was too close to the bed and I kept hitting myself. I got a few bruises. I’m not sure how the newer building the conference side is but the older building is absolutely terrible. The breakfast was not nice like honestly the taste was really bad.
