Upon arrival, we were greeted by a pleasant property, with the main house exuding charm and elegance. However, as we made our way to the lodges, we noticed some litter in the parking area, likely left behind by housekeeping. Unfortunately, this initial impression extended to the lodges themselves, which seemed to lack some much-needed care and attention. The exterior could benefit from a thorough cleaning, while the interior, particularly the loft entry, would greatly improve with a fresh coat of paint to cover the numerous scuff marks.
While the room itself was comfortable, with a cozy bed and pillows, we did find several issues. The carpet appeared to have been overlooked during cleaning, as we spotted bugs, fluff, and even long hair in the shower—certainly not ours.
We decided to try the breakfast, and while the hot food was average, the coffee was a pleasant surprise and certainly a highlight of the meal.
Overall, while the property has potential, we feel it better aligns with a 4-star standard rather than a 5-star experience. With a bit more attention to detail and care, it could certainly elevate its guest experience.
