This is an older hotel with no elevator. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Basic hotel room.

We enjoyed our stay, it was close to shopping and eateries. If you are looking for "extras" (gym/elevator, etc) this place does not have all of that. But if you want a clean and decent place to rest after seeing sights and kind personnel, this is a good place to stay.

I travel almost every week for work. I took the family apple picking in blue ridge. I have never had a front desk, assistant that was more friendly or helpful. In her helpfulness, she did allow me to borrow a pair of pliers in order to adjust the temperature in both my room and my kids room. The knobs were missing on the wall units and you cannot turn them unless you had a pair of pliers. Several of the outlets were found and so old that the plugs would not stay in there to charge your phone. I will say that the hotel is done a good job updating the interior of the rooms with lap board siding. The rooms were clean.

Get a way
The room was clean and inviting. TV channels fantastic. A/C worked very nice. Lots of pillows on the bed, white sheets nice and crisp. Front checked us in 2 hours early.

i liked the wooden decor inside the room. But the walls are very thin, you can hear everything outside of the room, the door blocker inside was broken, the room was not very clean.

I am disappointed to see that the Reid Ridge Lodge was listed as an option for lodging overnight by the Blue Ridge Railway excursions. That was one reason I booked with the lodge. I strongly suspect that if they stayed at there, they would remove that suggestion. The entire motel needed a “good cleaning/dusting”. Room coffee pot was extremely dusty (unused in months probably). Wainscoting in hallways coated in dust; likewise windowsills. I wiped down our bathroom. Morning breakfast was continental (as expected). However, individual creamers curdled in coffee and the juice dispensers served very watered-down juices.

Room was nice, has rustic lodge look. Fixtures in bathroom need to be updated. Mattress on bed was not very comfortable. For one night stay it was worth the price.

Do not go here!
Could hear people in rooms on both side of us. Shower heads hanging by a wire. Where shower head should be cut my arm as it’s only part of holder. Hotel was loud most of the time. It was a horrible experience

It was excellent in all the conditions you expect it should perform in. However, I found it difficult to sleep. My room was next to the entry door in the back. All night long that door toned as guest came in. And I could hear my neighbors as if there is nothing separating us. Coffee was horrible—watered down. Sugary cereals, bagels, sugary muffins, small selection of fruit, my banana was old. Would I stay there again, yes. But not a room near an entry!

There was a dampness in the room. I visited another room and it smelled of mold and powder. In our bathroom there was some black mold in a corner Room was attractive quilt on bed was dingy looking. It needs some care and upkeep

Very disappointed
Was very disappointed in this stay. Room was clean for the most part although we did find a bug in the very dirty coffee maker that we tried to use before check out. Bed was “OK” but not very comfortable. The worst was the door to our room would not latch unless you slammed it with all of your strength which would disturb all of your neighbors. We reported this to the front desk and their response was “sorry”! We did not get to eat breakfast due to having compassion for our neighbors and not wanting to wake them up slamming our door. We had no access to local Tv only free internet tv stations so we could not watch the live football games. Then we were woke up at 830am by an employee coming into our room because “they thought we had checked out” Overall very disappointed at this stay and would not stay again
