Boca de Agua is a truly special place. Stunning architecture blended perfectly with nature, peaceful surroundings, and impeccable attention to detail. The staff were incredible. There was a slight problem with the water (it wasn’t their fault) and they were quick to find a solution for my wife & I. The location was peaceful and quiet which we loved! We’ve been to a couple hotels in Bacalar, but this is definitely our new favorite! We will be back!

We had an amazing stay at Boca de Agua. Caesar, the activities guide, was incredible. After booking the sunrise kayak tour with him on our first day, we booked a different activity with him every day.

Pros: Staff were very nice and helpful whenever asked. All employees went out of their way to assist us. The lagoon area was picturesque and serene. Food was generally good. Cons: Hotel is very expensive by local standards (equivalent or better hotels in the area are less than half the cost). Getting to the hotel requires a long drive from the highway on a poorly paved road and any transportation in or out of the hotel to the nearest town was $500 MXN each way so you were somewhat stranded at the resort. Food options at the resort were very expensive compared to local restaurants. No fitness center. Summary: Pretty hotel with good service but very overpriced (both for the room and for any food purchased) and isolated (expensive to leave the resort).

El hotel una maravilla…. Solo una cosa… me robaron mi iPad 😪 se que no me iban a resolver nada proque no tenía forma de comprobar que la llevaba… y me extraña que siendo un lugar tan exclusivo sucedan ese tipo de cosas Y tampoco le dieron seguimiento, quedaron de avisarme su conclusión de la investigación y nunca me contactaron
