The front desk agent that checked us in was HORRIFIC and should not be in customer service. Every encounter with her she was super rude and unaccommodating. On the other hand, Melissa was absolutely amazing!! She really went the extra mile to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't be more grateful for her. Wonderful room and very convenient area. Breakfast was good but we got burnt out on having the same eggs and sausage every single day of our 6 night stay.

The staff from the desk at check-in through check-out was always helpful, polite and available. My room was excellent. It was quiet; I slept well. The shower and vanity were spacious and provided space for my personal items. The TV was large and operated easily. The desk space for my computer was great. The breakfast was great. Very good selection of food to satisfy nutritional needs was available. A selection of snacks and food was available in the lobby for a reasonable cost.

I’ve stayed here before and loved it but have never stayed on 1st floor. Never again! 146 is the WORST!! Wish we had been given an option…..Right next to an exit door and the stairs. The noise of people and their pets coming and going all night. Heavy footed person stayed above us and heard them all hours, and didn’t get quiet until they left around 4-5am. Bright night outside light right at level of window kept it from being dark in there even with curtains closed. Breakfast area was packed and there was a line at 7am. Wasn’t impressed with what was offered and so noisy and crowded. Went back to room to eat eggs and sausage. Ice from ice machine was barely ice, very watery and melted quickly. Sink faucet was very loose, shower took forever to get hot. Hope they have a security company with all the strange people who didn’t look like they were staying there.

Decent hotel, beware smoking fee
The stay at La Quinta was good up until I left. It was a decent hotel for the price, staff was friendly, and the breakfast options were adequate. I was in town to visit an ill family member, so I was only at the hotel long enough to sleep each night and take a shower. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it did okay. The shower curtain wasn't big enough for the shower, so there was always water on the bathroom floor to be cleaned up after my showers. I was perfectly fine with my stay until I reviewed my bank account a couple of days after check out and saw a $250 charge in addition to the room fee. When I called to inquire, the person at the front desk advised it was a smoking fee. I absolutely *did not* smoke in the room. I left my name and number for the manager so I could at least find out what gave them the impression that I did, and hopefully resolve the issue as that is a lot of money. I did not get a call back. I called again on another day, asking for an email address instead. The front desk person said, "Uhh...let me put you on hold," and then came back a few moments later stating they would just have to take my name and number again, they wouldn't give me an email address. So I left my name and number again, and still got no call back. I probably would have recommended this hotel until the extra charge for something I definitely did not do.

I have stayed at this La Quinta many times…, happily. This time I must have drawn the short straw, room #146, the one next to the exit door. The door which banged continually all night. Avoid that one at all costs!
