Everything, about this hotel, was excellent: Our communication prior to arrival, registration, all staff were as polite, gracious, helpful as could be. The location was an rady walk to the historic city center, shopping and restaurants. Perfect!!

We chose this Hotel specifically for location due to our itinerary requiring trail travel from Bologna central on several occasions. However we were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. Amazing breakfast options. Great location 10-20 min walk to all kinds of dining options. Easy access. It was perfect for our holiday.

The room was clean and a good size. It's showing it's age though. Overall the stay was great. Close enough to walk to a variety of restaurants and close to the train station. We didn't do the hotel breakfast, just went to a cafe in the area.

The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The location is very good if, like us, you intend on taking day trips from the nearby train station. Equally it is less than 15 mins walk to the Piazza Maggiore and main tourist attractions. However, the hotel is rather 'tired' in parts and our room was not 4 star. The shower screen seal leaked badly and at least two of the double plug sockets only partly worked!

The Royal Hotel Carlton exceeded expectations. The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the nice dining room and buffet breakfast were a pleasant surprise. The hotel is also conveniently located within the Historic District and easy walking distance to the Bus station. Would gladly stay here again in the future.

Terrible experience. Horrendous dated room with old stained furniture. Stains on walls. Lights are flicking constantly presume electrical issues with wirings. Poor breakfast. Most definitely not 4 stars, nowhere near.

The property is a bit away from the city center but walkable distance to it. Dining options are minutes away walking. We got upgraded to a suite. The hotel is beautiful. Their breakfast offers a wide range of hot and cold items, including the best coffee and pastries. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it!

Overall a good experience the room was excellent and the bed amazing got a great nights sleep. The buffet breakfast had a large section. Only concern was time taken at front desk to check in and check out. Also the area between the hotel down to train station didn’t feel very safe particularly at night. Would stay here again, beautiful hotel.
