While the front desk was very courteous and helpful, the property is undergoing renovations and there was no pool or outdoor area and the restaurant was closed. No sidewalks around the property so walking into town was not an option. We had no hot water when we wanted to take a shower but that was taken care of promptly. Decor was dated but as I said, there is a renovation going on.
Pool is closed breakfast just ok very friendly people had to ask for tp everyday

Comfortable motel
Pool was unexpectedly closed. Hotel rooms could use an upgrade. Beds are comfortable. Check-in staff were pleasant and managed an early check-in for us. When I requested a change in the tv station during breakfast from espn to a morning news show I was told that it wasn’t possible due to a “different system “ and that an sports station was acceptable to all. I was irritated by this response.most breakfast rooms show one of the major network morning news programs. It appears that the hotel has been sold recently and is no longer a best western.
Location of the property was excellent. The facility has aged poorly. The AC unit was extremely loud and difficult to sleep through when it started. The refrigerator started alarming in the middle of the night. Bedding was at best eh. Breakfast was below mediocre. Would not stay there again with all of the other options on Sugar and Beech Mountain.
This hotel is old but really well-maintained. The landscaping is very nice with lush grass and attractive flower beds. We stayed there 20 years ago when our children were little for a ski trip. The rooms have not changed much in appearance (simple interiors) but everything was super clean, beds were very comfortable and there were a variety of pillow types to meet our preferences. We were in town for a wedding and it was perfect for a quick overnight. I would recommend this BW to travelers looking for safe, quiet, clean and reasonably priced accommodations! Breakfast buffet offered many selections and was refreshed by staff to ensure quality experience. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and very helpful! You can't beat NC Mountain Hospitality!
The worst thing about this hotel was lack of elevator. As an older couple, lugging bags upstairs was annoying and unsafe. We should’ve requested a 1st floor room.
