For an older hotel, it was nice. The staff was eager to please & it was clean. I was accommodated with the 1st floor (due to mobility issues) because of no elevator. I appreciated that. I didn't care for the noise in the evenings (caused by workers or probably guests). There was also someone smoking or vaping (not cigarettes). It was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. It wasn't a strong smell so I over-looked it. All this considered, I would recommend this hotel to others. Because of the noise & smoking would rate it a 9 out of 10.

Overall, the Charles River Motel served its purpose. While the building and the room felt a bit dated, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s conveniently located with easy access to Brighton, Cambridge and Watertown. For the price and a place to lay our heads, it worked out very well.

floor was dirty, ants crawling around, fitted sheet didn't fit the bed and kept coming off, didn't have enough towels in the bathroom, was told they "sold out" the night before when asked for more, visible layer of dust/dirt on furniture

There was no power in the room when we checked in and the hotel owner/manager was not even willing to help out. We couldn’t go anywhere else as it was pretty late so we had to stay there anyway and manages with flashlight from the phone. We have asked for a refund and awaiting it. Horrible experience and customer service.
