Very Good

Chose to stay in one of the oldest rooms authentic to the 1700s. Timber and mortice ceiling with old glass windows. Street lights through branches created a shadow dance on the ceiling that shouldn’t be missed. Bed was antique, fantastically plush with soft linens and lots if pillows, best hotel bed in my 61 years. Super convenient location.
This is an excellent environment for business and a historical vacation. There is a culture of courtesy and safety blended together that make the lodger feels welcome to stay and come back, and also curious to learn about history. Right at the center of town, it is an honnor to lodge in a peice of well preserved history.
Heating/cooling unit did not work well and our room #106 in the Prescott Wing was noisy - being on the street side we heard cars driving by all night. We did not enjoy the experience.
I was a little hesitant to book due to the rewiews being either 10s or 2s. Hardly any inbetween. After reading the lower reviews, it seems most were made by people with unrealistic expectations.
As for the inn itself, wow what a great place. Area is central to the shops and easily within walking distance. The inn has 2 restaurants that looked amazing (i already had reservations elsewhere before I booked the room). The room we booked was comfortable and clean. In the newer part of the inn but still a great experience.
Navigating through the building seems like a maze but the signage is clear if you follow it. Since it is an old historic building, its expected (if you want a place with straight hallways, elevators and cookie cutter rooms, book a modern hotel).
We will definately be back.
The bar at this hotel is very popular among the locals as well as the guests. Excellent service and food options at the bar; not your normal bar food. I would highly recommend it. And to think that the Minutemen gathered there, too!
Historic Inn with portions from 1716. Love the preservation of the site.
Superb restaurant with a Sunday buffet that is out of this world! We had 12 at a birthday party for 3 adult family members. Everyone loved the food, service and atmosphere. Thank you.

Disliked: Staff & service
Unfriendly staff. Room was fine, but shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor. Lots of stairs to room and no staff to assist.
We arrived early and decided to have a late lunch. We were glad we chose to eat at the Inn. The food was amazing. The waitress was great. Everyone was friendly. We had a room in the main building and couldn’t have loved it more. It was larger than we expected with a gorgeous view of the square. We loved how close we were to shopping and other restaurants. It is truly a walkable area. Would recommend highly to travelers with interest in history and gastronomy.
It was different that what we expected, we extended our time for 2 nights but there’s a lot of extra fees that they didn’t mentioned, we travelled with my service dog (trained for epilepsy 22lbs) by the policy online it says $35 non refundable fee but when we got in the hotel they charged us $75 no refundable for the dog stay, also we were supposed to be in a non smoking area but everything in the hallway smelled like cigarettes, otherwise people were very friendly and kind.
