The skinny on Courtyard Marriott Brookline
The hotel location is great -- very close to Coolidge Corner restaurants, shops, mass transit and a Trader Joes. We didn't use the pool but hotel common areas are well-designed and clean and the staff was definitely friendly. The room: Very clean. Coffeemaker/tea/water. Bathroom/tub was old with no ventilation fan. Bed comfort was just so-so -- too hard for us Linens and towels were scratchy. The TV: Large, new and modern with easy connectivity for streaming services. Overnight parking onsite is $50! (yikes) but there is a much cheaper public lot nearby. The room itself was a reasonable value.

Great Stay In Brookline
Marriott, of any variety, is one of my favorite hotel companies to stay with because of its coziness, safety, and amenities. The Brookline location is awesome because it’s in walking distance of many things including the T, it has a bistro, 24 starbucks coffee available, a snack/toiletries station for purchase inside the lobby, and they have 24/7 security so i feel very safe and supported. The rooms are excellent with plenty of linens, towels, shower products, comfy seating, smart tvs, blackout shades/curtains, and cooling/heating. I really enjoyed myself. The only thing i will note is on my last night/2nd to last day of staying there the deadbolt/lock og the door kept sticking in the “locked” position so i had trouble closing the door behind me while leaving the room. it took a few tries of jiggling the inside handle—just something to look into!! Overall i great stay. I will definitely come back.

The hotel is in a great convenient location , but needs updating . The room needs new furniture & a duvet that actually fits into a comforter . Not just a top sheet on top of a comforter. The HVAC in our room was really off. The carpet is thread bare & needs to be updated. The towels are scratchy & worn. Generally update everything. The cleaning staff were very sweet & kind.

Mostly excellent!
Hotel is very attractive, in a great location - right in downtown Brookline and an easy walk to lots of things. Room is spacious, beds are comfy, super clean. Check-in was quick & easy. Parking is right at the hotel but for a $$$ fee. Room was really cold - AC was on, in December when it's in the 30's outside?!

Staff was pleasant and friendly. Location is exceptional. That's where the positives end. I was disappointed in the quality of the room, furnishings, lighting, fixtures, and interior spaces. This hotel did not meet the standards of a Marriott. In particular, the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets scratchy, pillows thin, and blanket very thin (in winter) with no duvet. The room was dark and narrow. The carpet was scratchy. The shower needed updating, as well as the furniture in the room. Worst of all, the lighting was dark and difficult to access, and together with the black and dark stripes, as well as heavy furniture, gave the room an oppressive, uncomfortable feel. For the price, this place really needs to upgrade its beds, bedding, and lighting at the very least. Finally, the reservation indicated there would be a microwave. There was no microwave, and they would not bring one to the room. I packed a coffee device to make my own coffee stronger French press and breakfast in the am, so this was very frustrating.
