In preparation for this trip, I made two phone calls approximately one week prior to our arrival to request early check-in and a specific room location. Despite the hotel’s assurance that these arrangements would be accommodated, we were not able to check in until three hours after the standard check-in time due to delays in room cleaning.
As a result, my family had to adjust our travel schedule unexpectedly, incurring both stress and additional expenses that were entirely our burden. When we were finally given the room key around 6:30 PM, we were disappointed to find tissue scraps on the floor, and the cleanliness and organization of the bathroom and bedding were noticeably below the standard we’ve experienced at other hotels.
Moreover, the staff member handling our check-in offered no apology for the delay, and instead suggested we could take a different room we had not requested, as if it were a reasonable solution. There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience or discomfort caused to our family.
We booked this stay trusting in the Hyatt brand’s reputation for quality service, but unfortunately, the service we received did not meet the basic standards we expect from Hyatt. The check-in experience is a vital first impression of any stay, and the issues we faced during this process were deeply disappointing.
Given the circumstances, I am requesting appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and poor service we experienced.
