We wanted to stay in Harvard Square to attend an event and this looked to be a good option. The structure is older but was extensively remodeled to a modern style throughout. The rooms and baths are still on the small size for US hotels, however. Also, I thought that the Expedia description showed that there was an in-house cafe in the hotel; not so! There is free coffee and water in the lobby, but no food and no snack vending machines. However, it is right next door to the wonderful Flour Bakery and Cafe and very close to all other dining choices, including The Charles Hotel. Parking ($45/day with in-out privileges) is available on the entrance level although if the hotel is full, I assume that is first come first served. Room is modern, bright but there are some minor maintenance issues being worked on. It was still a good option for us and maybe for single travelers or anyone who wants an affordable room near the Square. Rates for big weekends will be priced at "market rate" as we say for Lobster here in New England.

Great price for the PERFECT location. Small, very clean comfortable rooms. Very convenient parking for less than anywhere nearby. Nice coffee bar. But ... the elevator is not handicap accessible from the front door. An ever-changing (but friendly) cast of front desk staff makes it necessary to explain situations multiple times.

The bed was very comfortable, but the room was very small and so was the bathroom. Also, the fact that food wasn't available in the hotel is inconvenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, though. It would be a good place to stay for people who don't mind very basic hotel accommodations.

Overpriced urban motel
This place was and is an overpriced urban motel in a prime location next to Harvard Square. Rooms are small. Bathrooms are airplane sized with a shower. No ammenities whatsover. Parking is an exhorbitant rate. Try to avoid this overpriced place.
