The best part was the front desk staff who were friendly and upbeat. The location was convenient. Definitely save yourself some money by using the parking garage across the street as opposed to the valet. The room was pretty but smelled SO bad. I can’t explain it exactly but it smelled like sweat and mold. The only way to get respite from the smell was to keep the AC running full blast. Anytime the AC clicked off — immediate stench. We had already unpacked and settled in otherwise I would’ve requested a new room (we were in 805 if that helps you to avoid our catastrophe.) But honestly not sure the smell would be remedied with a new room? Seems to be in the vents! The bartender at the hotel restaurant needs to either get laid or find a new job. She was absolutely miserable, unhelpful and unfriendly. I hate to critique my fellow industry workers like that (I’ve been in service for 18 years,) but I think it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a bartender. I hesitate to call it an experience as I felt like my mere presence was an inconvenience to her. Really sorry to say that. Wish I had spent $418 for one night elsewhere.

The room was well above average. Clean, modern, quite nice. The amenities are the reason for the lower score. Shampoo but no conditioner, internet was unusable. I did complain and get a code for premium internet but it was no better. The biggest flaw was the room service food. No clam chowder but it's on the menu as a permanent item, the girl advised it was not the soup of the day. Pizza was very greasy and the ample crumble was so cold it didn't even melt the ice cream. The gym is virtually non existent. Small light dumbbells but nowhere to use them. 2 treadmills and that's it. Great room, in you are only coming for one night or are not in the room much but the amenities are not great.

Okay, but disappointing.

Okay, but disappointing. Service was great, but the "king sized" bed, was definitely not a king, and the bathroom floor was all sticky. Fairly minor things, but when obvious stuff like that is wrong, it makes you uneasy as to what else isn't up to par or was misrepresented.

Loved the location if you have a kid staying in Mission Hill area. Valet parking was very convenient. The only need for improvement area I could recommend is that they only have drip coffee available in the hotel. No lattes or cappuccino style on site, had to go to a Brookline Starbucks every morning to get our coffees.
