We were told by the staff upon check in that we could have a room with a view of the harbor but that the room was not ready and we were told that we would have a couple of hours to wait and that we would receive a text message when the room was ready - at least by 4 pm. We waited until 5 pm and still no text so we went back to the desk only to be checked in to a room that was low and without a view. The manager that was on was VERY rude and unhelpful. She actually enjoyed telling us that the room that was supposed to be for us had been given away and lied that she was unaware that it was promised to us - despite the fact that the day shift desk folks had, in fact, passed the information along both verbally and in the computer. We never received any text that a room was even available and her attitude was, in essence, "oh well, that's just too bad". It certainly soured our experience as we had really been looking forward to celebrating a special occasion over the weekend.

Wonderful spot!
Great stay! We have stayed here many times & are always pleased! All the staff is lovely and accommodating! Great location! A short walk to the North End with fabulous Italian restaurants galore. And, of course, a stop at the modern bakery on Hanover street for cannolis and cappuccino !

Overwhemly frendly....not just in speech, but in real deeds. When the hot cider was out in the lobby, I told the front desk (not a complaint, but thought they would wish to know to remedy), since I had already consumed as much as I wanted. I did not say my name nor was I asked. When I returned to my room, a staff member had delivered a cup of hot cider prior to my return within just a few minutes. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed! Just a wonderful stay and a great thank you to the staff, for such!

Great hotel and amazing observation deck!
Hotel was amazing! 360 observation deck was a nice bonus. Valet friendly and helpful with recommendations. There was one down fall, our room was located near the counting room and we could hear people talking when we were trying to sleep during the cocktail hours.

I haven’t been to the hotel in many years, I was so glad to see that it was well kept and stayed mostly historical, the observation deck is always a treat with breath taking views of the city

Awed at the Custom House
We stayed at this property twice; at either end of an East Coast road trip. The staff was friendly, it’s in a great location and the suites are huge and top notch. The breakfast in the morning is inexpensive and convenient although not over the top. Valet parking was reasonable and very helpful. I will stay here again, gladly.
