My recent two-night stay at this Marriott, while visiting Salem, left a poor impression that guarantees it will be both my first and last time staying with the brand. The front desk and staff consistently appeared unwelcoming; I didn't see a single smile during my entire visit, suggesting a poor morale among employees. Our two-bed suite had several significant issues. Housekeeping failed to provide basic amenities like bathroom washcloths, and the tissue box was empty. When I inquired at the front desk, I was told they were out of washcloths. Furthermore, our room was not serviced by housekeeping at all during our stay.The cleanliness was also a major concern: the sofa was grossly, white-stained, and the refrigerator had a dirty, frozen ice block in the back. Despite having a kitchenette, the room was not stocked with essential items like plates, napkins, or disposable cutlery. Tip:gather these during breakfast. For a suite to accommodate four adults, it was surprisingly under-equipped, offering only two drinking glasses, two paper hot cups, two coffee pods, and two coffee condiments and three bath towels. This felt like a deliberate cost-cutting measure. On a positive note, the breakfast did offer good options.

Breakfast was a plus. Not much for dinner options in the area. No wash cloths in the room. Our heat/AC didn't work. Beds were very comfortable. You can tell that they have done many upgrades but still have more to do.

Stayed here for 4 days and did not get amy housekeeping. Had to keep asking the frpnt desk to please clean and restock the towels in our room but it never got done. Had to resort to finding the cleaning cart in the hallway to get new towels or go down to the front desk and wait for them to bring towels so I could take them back to our room. Also came close to running out of body wash and toilet paper. Would not stay here again.

Front desk staff were very friendly and seemed to be trying hard. Cleaning staff could have been better in a number of ways. We watched someone pushing a mop bucket run into a desk and spill mop water all over the floor and still walk off without cleaning up the spill despite having the mop & bucket right there with him. I also saw a few stray hairs in the bathroom when we arrived which no one ever likes to see. Shower curtain had mold buildup on the bottom of it and our room did not have any wash cloths. Breakfast was good and they kept the coffee and cream refilled despite a very big rush of people/full breakfast area in the morning.

We have stayed at this hotel before and it was good. The good: Staff is very friendly, was surprised to hear about parking charge (3.97 per day) as that wasn’t a thi nh the last time we stayed but it was fine. When you enter the room it is very spacious and welcoming. We had a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. A quick glance in the bathroom and it was a standard toilet and full size tub/shower, towels neatly stacked and what looked to be shampoo, conditioner and body wash on the wall. Our room had a mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave as well. The hotel was quiet (we stayed just overnight Sunday/Monday for a funeral) and the pool and hot tub were mostly empty which was a great option for the kids and was open late (til 10pm) The Not so good: There was a large stain on the curtain that from far away looked like blood, maybe candy or something not sure. After we had moved the blanket there was a splatter stain on the coverlet towards the end of the bed. While using the shower there was actually no shampoo just 2 containers of body was and the conditioner was empty. My own fault for not checking. The night table between the beds had some sticky substance on it as well so not sure that our room was actually cleaned prior to checking in. We did check in early but when we did we were told they had rooms open and available. I didn’t call the desk because we were exhausted after burying my grandfather and just needed sleep and not to switch rooms.

I never found your hotel once I arrived on Newbury Street. I drove for over 3 hours, stopped at 3 businesses and the State Police Barracks at Danvers for directions, but found myself driving in circles. It was a 2025 episode of Rod Sterlings Twilight Zone entitled, "The Vortex." I called the hotel 3 times only to be put on hold forever relegated to The Vortex! It was a horror story. The hotel wanted nothing to do with me and my problem. After 3.5 hours, I drove another 250 miles home from somewhere very close to the hotel from hell.

Booked a “king suite” where it stated king sized bed. We got there and it was clearly a queen size bed in a “suite.” (My husband and I own a king sized bed, I know the difference) I was up charged on a queen bed. Upon checkout, I asked if there was a reason we were given a queen suite instead of a king for a reason. The hotel was packed with what looked like several events so I would have understood. The receptionist looked at me like I was crazy and asked what I meant. I asked again why we got a queen instead of a king. She said we had a king size because that’s what it was classified as. I’m sorry but to charge someone extra over what you “classify as king” is absurd. The listing even stated king size bed. I want what I paid for not what they “classify” it as.

The hotel was smaller than expected. Upon arrival there were literally no bathroom amenities - no soaps in the bathroom no lotion no wash clothes for that matter. We have stayed at many Marriot beaded hotels and this was the worst.

My family enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel sits in a convenient area just north of Boston. It's easy to get back and forth to the city from this hotel. The breakfast was always good. I just would have liked them to have more fruit options.
