Deeply Disappointed: One of the Worst Stays Ever

As a 77-year-old who has spent decades traveling across the U.S. and abroad, I’ve seen my share of accommodations, good and bad. Unfortunately, our recent stay at the Quality Inn in Bowling Green, KY stands out as one of the worst. First, the property advertised a “hot breakfast,” but there were no eggs available. When I asked the staff, I was told, quite plainly, that “eggs are too expensive.” That’s not just disappointing, it’s misleading. The pool was closed due to a leak that, from conversations with staff, has been an ongoing issue. This was not disclosed at the time of booking. The door to our room was nearly impossible to open, it stuck so badly that my wife couldn’t manage it, and I struggled each time. A safety concern, to say the least. Adding insult to injury, our room was directly across from the outdoor garbage bins, which were emptied—loudly—at 3:45 AM, waking us up abruptly. That level of noise in the middle of the night is entirely unacceptable. These are just a few of the problems we encountered. The overall condition of the facility felt neglected, with an air of indifference from management. I do not write this review lightly, but I hope it helps others make informed decisions. We certainly won’t be returning. In fact if this is the standards of a Quality Inn I will never book another one anywhere.

We arrived 25 minutes before 3pm and were told that there weren't any rooms available yet for check in - that's fine, check in was at 3pm. We came back to the hotel later that evening and checked in. Our door seemed to be stuck but finally opened letting us in the room. The room smelled funny. The bedspread had stains on it, the second bed had hair on the sheets, and the carpet felt sticky. We then got stuck in the room because the door wouldn't open! The whole experience was awful.

We asked for a non-smoking room but there was definitely a light smoke smell in the room. We had to call the desk because there was no shower curtain. The phone in the room had no cord - we found it on the floor beside the stand. The bathroom ceiling and door had been painted in spots but not completed. The entry door was very hard to open. The hot breakfast had only sausage. When I asked at the desk I was told they were not allowed to serve eggs so the other trays were empty . We were not impressed and when other friends called to see where we were staying we recommended that they try somewhere else.

The gentleman that checked us in was friendly, talkative, and great to work with. The lady the next mrning not so much. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Location was great and close to the Bee h Bend Raceway. Continental breakfast was a joke. Served sausage and cereal, a few stale muffins. Orange juice was not orange juice. Price as great. Would stay there again.

OK, not great.

The location is good, the room was average, the "hot" breakfast was minimal (no eggs or yoghurt - only sausage and pancakes). Generally everything seemed well maintained and clean. Staff was not overly friendly.

Basic low end hotel with ridiculously high prices. Came in to have breakfast for my kids one day, we were 3 minutes late but it was open. Soon as we started to get breakfast the owner came in and turned all the lights off on us. Said breakfast was over. I was like for 100$ a night you most definitely should not be this rude over cereal for KIDS. One of the cereal knobs didn’t work. We stayed more than one night. Waffle batter is VERY slow to pour out. Juice is watered down.

Clean hotel( No Bar, Lounge, or Pool !!!)

Stay was good. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Close to everything in town. Check in was a breeze with Tom Wiggins. I was very disappointed with the restaurant, lounge , and pool being closed. I chose this hotel because it said it had those amenities available. We wanted to have a relaxing weekend and have a few drinks and not leave the property. I would have paid more elsewhere had I known that these would not be available. Tom said the restaurant and lounge had been closed for over a month. Management should make sure this is updated in your add and photos. This is very misleading and a false selling point to book your rooms. No one likes to get less than what you are sold.
