I can’t say enough about the property and the staff. We stayed in the Caribbean breeze cabin for 6 nights and it was an amazing experience. You are about 7 minutes from town in a beautifully manicured area which the staff takes care of all day long. The property is tucked just into the jungle off the beach so you get the best of both worlds. This is a place that will always hold a special place in our hearts and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

The staff at Hotel Umami were fantastic! They were friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making our stay truly enjoyable. Their excellent service made all the difference. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful property and such great staff. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Alex received us great and even provided us with a welcome coconut drink. So refreshing! The waitresses were so sweet. Anastasia was great, as were the two other young ladies! Breakfast was awesome every morning. The hotel does offer dinner but we were out in the city hanging out and did not have the pleasure of joining other guests. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy another stay. This property is very nice and the staff are very helpful and polite. The only issue I have is the layout or design of the rooms. The rooms look like individual bungalows but they are actually two back to back. As a result the walls are thin and sound between the two rooms carries. It be great if they just made them as separate bigger spaces but it is what it is. Breakfast is very good. The place is in the more quiet area of Puerto Viejo. There is a small town at the end of the road but not much there

Staff

Air conditioning was such a blessing here! The food and drinks were on par with the best in the area. We had a nice private beach area as well. Pool was colder than the ocean and thank goodness it was because it was very warm out when we arrived. The hotel was more quiet than being within all the bars and restaurants but close enough to enjoy at our leisure which we really appreciated. The staff especially Yusmary was very considerate and helpful. We wouldn’t change a thing about our choice to stay here.

The bungalow is well equipped and with direct access to the beach. The pool is amazing and the staff very friendly. The only points to improve are the location of the parking area and that the metal roof does not have sound isolation so when it rain is very noisy.
