Good location, but apartment had flaws

I have stayed here before, in a 1-br apartment that I liked. The location and neighborhood are good, and the view is great. This time I again booked a 1-br but was given a “compact 2-bedroom” that had the same great view but was inferior in several ways. It had no chair, only a couch. No table except for an over-large coffee table that was difficult to walk past safely. (I moved it.) There was a breakfast bar with stools, inconvenient for eating and completely unsuitable for working on a computer. All the bed pillows were much too thick and uncomfortable for me, instead of having a selection of pillows. The bathroom had no towel rail or hook to hang the hand towel near the sink.

This place had no heat for the first night and we froze all night and all of our kids caught a cold as a result. When I complainted to them they just made up some excuses and brushed me off saying it was not their fault. Only one elevator worked in this entire building and it took 15 minutes to go up and down each time we had to use the elevator. I definitely would not recommend this place.

Considering the cost per night, I would say this property is average compared to others in the area. Rooms were a great size, that’s the best part. Bathroom was not very clean and pillows were really hard & too thick. Check in took a very long time, not really sure why. Facilities look tired and so do the rooms. Not bad but I would stay somewhere else next time given the cost was high.

Property was relatively well priced for location. Room had a physical key, that needed to be locked when leaving the room. The internal lock didn't give confidence the door was actually locked. Assumed to be water noise throughout the night (like a drain pipe). If taking vehicle to the location, pick time wisely; while the city is generally busy, there is also a lot of construction eating into car spaces. Difficult to find a park to then enter the property and check in - to then drive your car into parking station.
