I moved the chair in the room to the desk and sat there and did my emails. It was suitable for my weight and I'm average size. My phone rang and I took a call and midway during the conversation the chair leg broke from under me and I was flung backwards onto the floor behind me, the top of my shoulders hitting the top of the chair as I went down. Below-average service, nice hotel

I’ve stayed at Eatons Hill Hotel a few of times and recently had below-average experiences. On the last two occasions, there have been problems with our room bookings. Firstly, when requesting a king bed, we arrived to find two singles. We were told housekeeping had left for the day so nothing could be done. It was eventually fixed, but it was unnecessarily awkward and not handled well. And then on our most recent stay, the exact same thing happened again — we booked a king for one room, but found two singles instead. When we raised the issue, staff were again unhelpful and didn’t seem to care that it was the second time this had happened. Unfortunately, the service overall was disappointing. Staff came across as uninterested and unfriendly, both at reception and in the breakfast area. In particular, the bar staff in the morning didn’t smile or even acknowledge us. It’s a shame, because the hotel itself is nice, but the lack of attention to detail and consistently poor customer service have really let it down.

Nice Hotel-just don't book a room nearest the pub

Hotel stuffed up our friends stay on the night of the Rugby Cup in Brisbane. Most places were booked out. The duty manager eventually was able to have a room for our friends and threw in breakfast (as the room was cheaper than that booked. Very happy with his professionalism and the way he approached the issue.
