Large rooms, comfy bed, great service good location in the city, great pool, friendly staff. Onsite parking used to be free, they now charge per night which is disappointing.
We enjoyed our stay here. An older hotel but with an excellent location and with a very helpful team of staff. Nice to have an outdoor area with a pool in the city.
An older property, but quite well maintained. The staff were lovely and the botanical gardens across the way are beautiful and walkable. Did not really take advantage of the dining as it is quite expensive, but there are other options close by.
Although the hotel is an older one, the rooms have been refurbished and we loved the hotel’s position opposite the Botanical gardens. Walking distance to all the cross river pedestrian bridges which allowed plenty of areas to explore.

The hotel is dated and needs refurbishment. But the price point reflects that. The staff are great.

Been staying here for over 41 years. The rooms haven’t changed much, but we love the location and the earlier check in time which is a plus. Just stayed there for our anniversary to celebrate 41 years since we first stayed there. Unbeknown to us, our daughter in law rang the hotel to tell them it was our anniversary. They did wish us a happy anniversary when we checked in but we thought it would have been a nice touch for them to have acknowledged our loyalty with maybe even a drink voucher.

Front Desk did not explain the amenities so I had to ask about wifi, breakfast, and gym. The reason we chose this hotel was becaise of the spa and pool. Spa jets were disfunctional and the pool not heated. Breakfast was the standard but poorly executed.
Hotel was clean and comfortable, if somewhat dated. Carparking was very convenient and reasonably priced. Being across the road from the lovely city botanic garden was the highlight.
Lovely experience at the Royal on the Park for 2 weary travellers who came in from Longreach after a 9 day tour with Queensland Opera taking Opera to the Outback
