Get your systems sorted

Hotel wanted to charge me twice, had to repeatedly show I had paid already. I had also checkin online but again, had to redo as they did not bother to look this up. As a "VIP" who travels with Hotels.com my booking was supplose to also come with free drink, upgrade etc. Nothing was offered, not that it bothers me but what B.S by Hotels about being VIP and what arrogance by Hotel staff who think they are right. Will not be staying there again.

Great location away from the main CBD

The Point Hotel is in a great location away from the hustle & bustle of the Brisbane CBD. The new Kangaroo Point Pedestrian Bridge is close by and makes for an easy 1.5km walk to the Queen Street Mall. The hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. The pool area is small but a lovely space to relax in. I’ve stayed here over 20 times for work & leisure and will continue to come back.

Moldy room, unclean bathroom

After staying at The Point about 15 times, I will never stay there again after this experience. I was put in a room on the road side - nice view but noisy from the cars. I walked into the room and could instantly smell mold. Very dangerous! It got worse when I went into the bathroom and it hadn’t been cleaned. There was shaved hair all in the basin and bath, and toilet was dirty. Made me question if they’d cleaned the room at all. I complained about this to reception and was told he would let housekeeping know. No offer to compensate the room cost or anything. Then it got worse when today my card was stopped by my bank due to scam-like behaviour from The Point Hotel, charging my card with $10, $20, 50 transactions - 5 all in a short timeframe. They had already charged my card for the first night, and I got charged the second night plus parking and $50 deposit when checking in. I called them and spoke to Jet who was rude and not helpful at all. He claimed to not know about the first night charge and thought it was normal for them to charge in little amounts rather than one charge against the pending amount - what every hotel, car rental etc company does. Will find a new hotel for my weekly work trips now as The Point is an absolute disgust. Tried to find a phone or email to lodge a complaint, but of course I couldn’t find one as it probably happens a lot

Expensive for what you get, room was so-so, “gym” was pathetic and the restaurant is average. It’s ok, but too expensive for a lower grade property.

Disappointed this time

They thought they were kind putting me in a room facing the city for the view (it is great), but you have lots of road noise. I much prefer the other side of the hotel. The shower had white mold in it and clearly hadn’t been cleaned as the basin had hair from someone having a shave. Will need to find somewhere new for my weekly work stay

I upgraded and booked for a high floor and river side apartment and was told this was all organised. I got a floor half way up and the opposite side with traffic noise. The bathroom was not cleaned properly and there was chips and things under the bed. The soap holder was held on by electrical tape. The smoke alarm has a bright flashing green light which makes it hard to sleep (Maybe place it not over the bed)Besides these i was told that my balcony room (originally booked) was outdated and the junior suite would be much better. I think they are pretty equal after this stay and not worth the extra money.
