Picked The Point as it was close to the Gabba for an AFL game. Was an easy enough walk to get there and back without having to rely on other means of transport.
I stayed in a balcony view room that was on the third floor and it was just inline with the road outside as it goes up a slight hill - even though the windows were double glazed I didn’t get much sleep due to the constant road noise outside. I thought that it would ease off later on but it didn’t really as you could hear cars flooring the accelerator just to get up the hill. The small view I had of the story bridge was a nice touch when I sat out on the balcony for a bit. I guess if I was there for longer than a night that the road noise might not be as noticeable. The room was tidy enough but had a bit of a weird smell in it - the carpet was a bit rippled and could probably do with replacing. Bed was a bit soft and I felt like I was moulded into one bit that I couldn’t get out of even if I tried to roll out of it. Bathroom cleanliness was pretty good. Shower over a bath tub was a bit cramped - I wouldn’t like to be a bigger person as I struggled a little and I’m only small. All in all a good place to lie your head but I wouldn’t want to be sitting in the room any longer than needed. Was a bit underwhelming. 10/10 for location!
