Only book here if you’re desperate
We had some issues with our stay. As there is no reception, you just use a code to access the building. Our code didn’t work. We called the company to get support but they didn’t answer (went to voicemail). We tried again 20mins later and fortunately got through. Secondly, there is a chemical smell in the building, kind of like cleaning products. Thirdly, there was dirty underwear on the floor in our room from a previous guest, disgusting.

The Imperial Motel was an interestingly different experience: all booking done online and no staff at the property. The property however was clean, the room was quite small but completely adequate, and there was ample parking (though I think you need to be heading south to access the parking area). My only objection is that to make the booking the motel not only required credit card info (as is common) but also a scanned copy of ID with name, date of birth, place of birth etc (i.e. a passport or driver's licence). In other words they collect all the info that could be easily used to steal your ID or access your account. They say they delete the ID after your stay, but there is no way at all of checking. I refused to send all this info and in the end sent my driver's licence with my day and month of birth covered up ... but they really, really should not be requiring this, and perhaps Wotif could take a look at this requirement.

The room was basic but ok. The fact that there were no onsite staff seemed to attract a pretty shady clientele. I saw on a review that they witnessed drug deals in the carpark and would not be surprised...dont stay here.

I normally only leave positive reviews but others need to be warned! At least the bed was comfortable! Room had just been cleaned so had very sore eyes and a headache instantly from the strong bleach smell in such a tiny space. Room was tiny and hard to get around the bed without an injury. I called to cancel our booking straight after receiving the text about $1,500 charge if the smoke alarm goes off from using the hot shower but I was outside the cancellation period. She advised that it never really happens anyway. We were there not even an hour and the fire department came with sirens blaring. Someone had an expensive stay that night! So we opted not to use the shower at all!!! 😳 I wouldn't have paid any more than $80pn only if an electric air vent was installed in what they call an ensuite bathroom. Very disappointed.

Dirty, rooms are that small you can touch one wall to another nearly with arm span! Floor was cracked, advertised as Queen and Single but single is actually a bunk on top.. so close to the roof! Bathroom and toilet area is a metre squared, absolutely tiny! Non smoking but people are smoking in their rooms! Rooms smell like mothballs. Stayed 1 night and charged for 3, place is ridiculous and nothing what you expect for a “family room”.
