Genuinely it was a good stay and lovely food.
I did not like the Costa room so I asked if I could up grade and I did at some extra cost. Room was comfortable but was not as clean as it could have been. Cobweb’s, dust, and stains on bathroom tiles. I took the responsibility to clean all these to make it better for us.

This is a return visit, this time with family to celebrate New Year. Wonderful location and suitably festive decoration. I have always liked Hotel du Vin’s style and have stayed at their Cambridge hotel which was also very good. Lovely room with balcony, offering stunning views of the Suspension Bridge. Spent midnight on the balcony which had chairs and table. Excellent breakfast and a very good cocktail bar with knowledgeable bartender. It was not a cheap option for New Year but worth every penny. May well return next year.

Good, apart from the shower
This was a nice hotel, and we did enjoy our stay. However the shower didn’t work on the first morning; we mentioned this and were told it would be fixed or we would be moved, but neither happened

A great view of the Clifton suspension bridge.
I would say the cleanliness could be better. The carpets in the bar were not clean. The hotel looks like it needs a freshening up. It can feel at bit dark and dreary. The cocktail was really nice from the bar and friendly helpful bartender. ( martini expresso) The room (signature suite) was lovely with hign end toiletries and the bed was very comfortable. 35 min walk into town going downhill a bit longer coming back uphill. A beautiful spot overlooking the suspension bridge and gorge.
