I went to Bristol, Va. For a dear friends funeral. my stay was was very comfortable, the room was was clean, which with me is very important. There was a bus load of teenage track team so the hotel was booked solid. The drsk clerks (day & night.) Were very helpful with my reservation, i had plans to stay 3 nights but changed my mind and wanted to change to 2 nights. They were friendly and accommodating. Definitely stay there again.
Outdoor air drifted in around perimeter of the heating unit. Had to tuck & stuff pillow's around the heating unit in between the unit and the built-in wood surround! Had to put both top bed covers at base of window to block more cold air. Hall carpet saturated road dust from rock salt. Hall carpets weren't vacuumed twice. Had to keep towels across bottom of entry door. American Staffers provided friendly service with a smile unlike India staffers. India female housekeeper was rude to 2 Female Guests accused them of trying to get extra towels & refused to give them extra towels. Causing one of them to speak to the India
male India male that generally there each day [nice, honest man!]. One evening, female staffer told my daughter to wait until time to checkout to rebook our room. Yet hotel staff had booked our room by 8:45 AM long BEFORE our checkout time! RUDE! India female Housekeeper pounded on our door yelling "We must hurry-up and leave the room!" Our elderly Mother was extremely sick + barely able to walk. Her illness required constant, frantic, immediate, fast-paced attention holding us up from expedient packing/departure! We expedited our leaving as fast as possible. Later same day called to rebook & staffer lied [per employee's across the street] saying, "Hotel was 'Fully Booked', no available rooms." Employee's across the street swore that was not truthful and how they knew it was not truthful. One even called to book a room & was told a room was available!
My only issue with the cleanliness is the carpeting. Why don't motels get rid of it? Always looks dingy and I know it's not shampooed after every stay. And although this property is non-pet-friendly, you know people sneak their animals in I'm allergic so I always ask for a room that has not had any pets inside but you never know. Just like smoking. This property was totally non-smoking but someone was definitely smoking down the hall. The clerk on evening/night duty, Kamini, sniffed out the offender and put a stop to it. I want to commend her for that because the smell was very annoying
