Large comfy suite
Super comfy! Great views! Easy walk to everything. Would love to return after renovations are complete. Breakfast is so-so. Would expect more from a luxury hotel. Check in early to avoid the “I don’t do much” evening crew, that can’t even bother to look up. Love the wood floors and balcony. Wish they had coffee and a couple bottles of water in the room.

Historic Ocean Inn St Simon Island
Hotel was under renovation at the time of our stay which was a little inconvenient. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the main attractions and dining/shopping locations. Would love to return when the renovations are completed.

My husband & I travel somewhere once a month, and I read hotels reviews before staying places.I saw that this property had some poor reviews, but there was a lot of people that left excellent reviews, so I decided for us to stay, plus the Ocean Inn website also had photos that looked really nice as well. After arriving at the Ocean Inn and getting into our premium room, I was relieved that I had booked only one night!The exterior of the hotel was in poor condition and looked like it had not been painted in many, many years!The wrought iron and wood balcony area had some old rotted wooden pieces that had come off!The chairs and couch were very worn and one had a rip in it! The interior of our room had a horrible musty odor which gave me a headache, so we kept the balcony doors open most of the time & even sprayed some cologne and the odor still didn’t go away! I was so embarrassed that I had booked a place like this for us to stay!It is shocking that this property has been in this condition for so many years! Hotel managers always seem to have an excuse when they receive poor customer reviews and say that they plan on addressing the complaints to make things better at their hotel, yet most of the time they don’t! Unfortunately it seems most hotels never disclose that they are having renovations or construction in the area going on, and they wait to surprise you with that when you check in, so they don’t lose out on any money from people not wanting to stay at their property!

We enjoyed our one night stay and would stay again. Room was very comfortable and bed was pristine in presentation, not a wrinkle. Only thing was heat/air is a wall unit that is noisy. We turned it off during the night and the room remained very comfortable. Loved the uniqueness of the bathroom design.

The room smelled. It had a moldy odor. The furniture was old and there were stains on the couch. They were remodeling and had partial Sheetrock completed in the hallway. There was enough parking for guests. It’s in a great location right by the village.
