The room was fine and the property was fine. Really big problem - on check in we were informed that the air-conditioning was not working and the temperature was in the 90s. We were told it would be fixed next week, which does not do a lot of good. We asked if they at least had a fan and were told they did not. The staff was friendly and offered to comp us with free breakfast but that really did not make it right given that we had to suffer for a few nights in miserable heat. We opened the window, but it did not really cool down the room, but did add noise that kept us awake most of the night. If not for that the room was ADEQUATE, but certainly not nice. I would not come back to this hotel and will look at Carlton brand with skepticism in the future.

Nice Gem

This place is a lovely gem in the “Buda” area of Budapest! The staff was really attentive and helpful. The room could use nicer bedding, but overall it was okay. The breakfast daily was fantastic, and it had lots of options for everyone. I highly recommend this location.

Had a lovely 4 night stay here, very nice hotel and excellent staff. Clean and tidy rooms well looked after by the room service staff. Nice smart bar area next to reception and a very nice breakfast area with a very large selection of food and drinks, which is constantly monitored and refreshed by the excellent staff. The usual cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes etc as well as a great selection of cold meats and cheeses to go with a huge bread display. Fruits, yoghurts, nuts berries, cakes and plenty to select from the drinks area, and on and on - very impressive. Location is great for the Buda side, just under the Fishermans bastion which is a short walk up, or bus 16 stops just down the road. On the main road next to the river the trams 19 and 41 will take you up and down this side of the river and to connections to all over the city. ***Recommend the 3 day travel pass for about £10 which is date and timed so you can forget about finding validation machines - just get on and sit down - much easier

Very convenient. Buda Castle is a walkable distance by way of a footpath and close to the funicular entrance. Breakfast is delicious with many options and great service.
