Although The Intercontinental isn’t the most attractive building, externally, in Budapest; it more than makes up for it with its superb location! Situated on the Danube Promenade, the view of The Chain Bridge and the magnificent, elevated Budapest Castle District across the river, is breathtaking - especially in the evening when the attractions are lit up. The impressive Parliament building is also just a short stroll away. The local area is bursting with options for dining out, shopping and transport links; whether you require the bus, the tram or the metro. The hotel boasts a pool and spa. The breakfast selection is excellent; offering choices of hot food as well as a huge variety of other options to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and efficient.

A first class and very well managed hotel.
The hotel is in a prime and enviable location on the Danube, directly opposite the Royal Palace, near the Chain Bridge, tram and metro stations and with easy access to all of Budapest's main attractions. My "Premium Room" bedroom was very large and well appointed - its bathroom with excellent shower, was slightly small scale but had everything one would need. The view from the room was spectacular and was in pole position to witness breathtakingly beautiful sunsets.The staff were professional, friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast choices more than plentiful and well presented. My only, somewhat trivial, comments are that the bed pillows are too soft (but if I'd asked, I could probably have had them changed) and on a few occasions (mainly weekend) the dining room at breakfast was hectic. Overall, an hotel I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or to stay in again.

As an American, I would have liked some simple options of food if not in the main restaurant in the cafe. A simple sandwich or burger option. All were Lebanese as far as I could read…or at least an English translation.

I love the view that our room had, we were in front of the Buda Castle, 8th floor. Our suite was comfortable, spacious, quiet for our family of 3. Our suite offered the access to a club lounge where we had breakfast a couple of times and we spent several hours there working. The staff was very kind and pleasant. we also had snacks with a glass of Prosecco there. We enjoyed this club lounge, especially myself because I spent several hours there working.
