I was surprised at how nice Maverick Atheneum was, the facilities are very clean and modern. The shared dorms are spacious and offer plenty of privacy. Be aware that the price of the breakfast has actually gone up & this hasn’t been changed online so you’ll need to pay the difference when you arrive. Great location close to the train station & a 20 minute walk to the Danube

This hostel was great, very clean and comfortable. The sleeping area was very dark inside the pods, almost no light got in. I would definitely stay here again. Staff were helpful. There is a bus stop directly outside of the hostel which can take you anywhere in the city. There is also a metro (M2 i think) line one block away. Breakfast looked good, there, although I didn't have time to eat it. They also have a commissary area where you can purchase drinks, snacks, and flip flops for the bath houses in the City. A note about the location: I think overall the location was quite good. The hostel is located in a busy area with a LIDL grocery store next door. The immediate neighborhood area felt a little dirty/sketchy, but that is not a reflection of the hostel -- it's just a classic big city. That said, asmentioned, I would definitely stay here again in future.

Nice comfy room and bed. Clean. THIN WALLS! The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Close to everything and easy to get around by foot, bus, tram and metro. Very friendly and nice hotel/hostel with activities. The only problem was the thin walls so bring headphones or plugs. Would recommend for the price (Euro 30-40 / night Singel room) Best regards

The room was clean, the amenities were good, including the air conditioning. However, because we paid surge pricing 20 times the usual nightly fee because of the Champions League Final, I would expect the hotel might try a little harder. For instance, we did not know about the tourist tax until we checked in, also, breakfast not included! Do not expect coffee/tea in your room, let alone a paper cup! Buyer beware, I guess.

The staff at reception was very friendly. As for the room itself, the bed was comfortable. However, there was a bad smell in the bathroom that never seem to disappear even when extractor fan is left on. It was nauseating everytime i stepped into the bathroom. I could hear the pipes the whole night from the room (probably from people flusing upstairs). Also, there wasn't any bath shampoo (either finished or not working).

More of a hostel than a hotel. Paid £2500 because of champions league for a tiny room next to the bar so when you open your window curtain there were people playing pool and having a drink with music right outside. No room service, threadbare towels, no wardrobe, sheets too small for bed, towel rail not working, double lock on door broken, breakfast not included. I have just been ripped off. Expedia were just as bad with their terrible customer service. Do not recommend hotel or Expedia

Clean rooms. Just be careful. They will send you an automated email stating you owe additional money for accommodations you never requested. Ask for an itemized invoice showing exactly what these “alleged accommodations” are.
