Our stay at the Roycroft Inn was impromptu but will leave a lasting impression! We had a four room suite and were taken aback at how big it was. We found the Roycroft to have amazing value for what we paid. A continental breakfast was a pleasant addition to our stay. The spread included muffins, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juice, hard boiled eggs, bagels, fruit, bread for toasting, and a few other quick bites. The breakfast area was gorgeous and filled with light coming in from the giant windows. The sitting area by the check in desk was also very serene, in quite a literary way. We’re only an hour away, so we will definitely be back for a quick weekend stay!
We got stuck from a storm that had white out conditions in order for us to get home and decided to stay an extra night at the Inn. The staff, rooms, dining were exceptional. We have been there before and the facilities are fantastic with something to learn and see in every room. I highly recommended even if there in no storm. ;)
The check in was really great and the waiters at dinner were very friendly and gave me great recommendations. The room was very large with separate bed living and bathroom areas. I had the Elizabeth Barrett Browning room and am familiar with her poetry so it was a special treat.
Highly recommend.
The property was beautiful but felt a bit devoid, musty, and cold. Suggest some deep cleaning of upholstery in common areas as well as rooms, increasing heating, and maybe some music in the lobby to warm things up a bit.
At first I got a room that I really didn’t like at all dark and cell like in the older part of the inn which also meant having to walk outside to get to the dinning room however they were very accommodating by giving me a more comfortable better room.
I think they could provide a better breakfast however with more self serve options like cheeses and better bread selection.
Loved the ambience and overall look of the room. Sheets could be white or cream. Not the dingy grey. Also, a ceiling fan over the bed for some air movement would increase sleep comfort. In the breakfast room, some soft music, and keep the yogurt in the fridge not room temp!. Hope this helps improve on a great establishment!
This is an amazing property. It has been restored to look very much like its original condition ( circa 1900) but with all modern amenities. The rooms are very large and many are suites. Each beautifully appointed. The staff are very helpful and the meals excellent. It is walkable to the quaint beautiful downtown. This was our seventh visit, each has been special.
