The check-in process was completely lacking. I stood outside for over an hour emailing calling and trying to get lit in the door. It says the front office is open, but you have to know how to get in the door. Apparently you have to use the keypad and click on one of the options that was available. But nowhere was that in the directions and the phone number to call the reception area was not taking phone calls and no one ever responded to my emails so I spent almost 2 hours standing outside until other people came along and let me in. Absolutely ridiculous!

As a single, female traveler this was an awful place to stay. The manager was insulting. Keep the shutters and windows closed at all times from staff and neighbors. Ironing was only allowed in the kitchen, but not during breakfast?? The view from the upper deck was beautiful but there are no umbrellas or shade only plastic chairs and ash trays. The rooms were very nice and clean. The elevator is shut off at night. I needed to leave at 5 am and was scolded for taking my suitcase down the steps. I left early and returned late the entire 6 days of my stay. My trip was a gift from my son and daughter in law which I appreciated very much. The rest of the trip was very nice and I found the people and other visitors very kind and accommodating.

The view from the room was beautiful and the room and bathroom were spacious and clean and nicely decorated (a little bit dated but cute and kitchy). The terrace was huge and we enjoyed the included breakfast served on the terrace each morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the main road heading into town and it has an elevator so no steps! The hotel also has a common area terrace with a hot tub. We were there in July and the heater in the hot tub was not on which made it actually refreshing. To get down to the port, you could wind your way down the street or you could take shortcuts on the numerous stairways throughout town. It probably takes about 15 minutes. You can also take the bus. But we actually rented a Vespa (from Pepe’s) and got around that way and the hotel let us park it in their small parking area for a small fee. I wouldn’t want to walk all the way back up from the port! This hotel is a great value. It doesn’t have the fancy lobby and it’s a bit further up the hill but we enjoyed it.

The hotel was great, clean and food quality for the breakfast okay. Same thing for the 3 nights and small portion. Location on top good for transportation accessibility, the bus is right around the corner. Staff NOT good people, they don’t speak English if is not convenient for them. They ask for money for everything, they charge me $150 for an extra visitor without giving me a receipt plus $50 for additional breakfast. The old lady is very rude and will curse you out in Italian.

Very nice hotel. Only problem is the location. If we planned better we would have stayed lower in town, probably on the beach.
