Good times

Namu exceeded our expectations in every way. The room, the grounds, the spa and especially the staff were exceptional. The front desk staff were extremely helpful before and during our stay. The chef and restaurant staff were great and the food was amazing!

The property is very tastefully done , location on the beach is perfect , breakfast and just food overall (including the coffee) overall is delicious, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff , esp. Johnny .. he went out of his way to help us with some last minute booking changes that we would’ve otherwise stressed about. I also asked the reception staff about the amazing coffee they serve and they were kind enough to give me a sample !! Overall very relaxing and enjoyable stay and totally worth it !! Highly recommend AWA and we hope to be back

Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)

Lovely boutique hotel, good location. My only gripe being due to a mix up our room wasn't cleaned one day. The staff were so friendly, the wildlife on site was unreal and hotel has a real aire of class about it. Thank you!

Beautiful and calm place surrounded by nature. However, some areas need a little more maintenance, such as the toilets near the pool area by the beach. Breakfast is ok but could offer more variety given the price paid. There are no restrooms available near the main pool, the only restroom is in the lobby. There are no phones in the rooms and if you need to communicate with the hotel staff you have to go to the lobby or use whatsapp which has a very slow response.

The rooms are beautiful, the wildlife abundant and the host, Jessica, was very helpful at answering questions and providing recommendations and she cooked a wonderful breakfast! I really loved the natural pool, and there were several great tours offered by a local guide, Rodolfo. The only comment I would make was my concern over a couple of domestic cats that were allowed outside on the property. I intercepted one of them hunting birds and lizards a few times. I understand it is somewhat socially acceptable in Costa Rica to let domestic cats roam, but from a North American perspective it's generally not acceptable as they are responsible for millions of bird deaths annually. If the cats are going to be outside I would hope they could get collars with bells on them to reduce wildlife mortality because otherwise everything about this resort is very ecologically focused. This one thing just didn't fit with that vibe.
