First visit to Cambridge as a family and the hotel helped make the stay a wonderful experience. Situated in a fantastic position overlooking the river we had a prime view over Jesus Green and enjoyed the location very much.
We stayed one night at this beautiful, very classic hotel, perfect location for exploring downtown Cambridge. Parking at the hotel was cheap compared to other hotels. They gave us the option to leave our car in their parking lot once we had checked out. The continental breakfast was good ham and bread.

The desk manager Zara was very helpful and a gem, the hotel is older but has a cosy atmosphere. The in house dinning was good quality for reasonable prices. We would stay again.
Room was nice. Im a nearly 60 year old so being on the 4th floor I thought well I need the exercise!
On my way up I thought whatt if theres a fire. Then noticed theres no light on thd fire alarm. A bit concerning.
The tv control no light. So guess the batteries have gone.
Not had breakfast yet as its a long way down.
The hotel is rather tired, but still trying to charge premium prices for a faded product.
There is no free parking, which is a con. You don’t find out until you get there.
The best advice is to sell up and convert the property to flats or sell it to a Cambridge College.

Location, a bit tired in places, but very functional
A well situated property. Parking at £18 per day was expensive when a resident. Breakfast was continental and not replenished regularly. Staff need more training. Needed to be asked to top up items on buffet and clear tables following each course. When ordering a full English breakfast the waiter delivered the food and payment was immediately requested. Not a good value at £12.50. Evening meal was exceptional with good service from our waiter.
Would visit again.
Looks nice from the outside, inside it definitely has 'Fawlty Towers' vibes. Be prepared to be woken up by guests slamming doors and walking up creaky stairs. Very handy for the Cambridge Half marathon though.

Average place but amazing location
Chose the hotel for location and car parking - brilliant access to Cambridge centre. Everything very dated in terms of decor and upkeep but service was good and staff friendly and helpful. Super continental breakfast included in room rate. Car parking £18 overnight until 11am next day. If you book direct with the hotel, car parking is free. We stayed in the Club King room in an annexe behind the hotel. Room was very well appointed, comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities but it was cold on arrival. However, reception provided a heater which was fine until the heating came on at 5.30pm. Overall, a tired hotel but good for an overnight stay within easy walking to centre of town.
Lovely and good value. I had a single room with en suite, both very small but adequate, and a lovely view over the river and park. Easy regular bus into centre of you don't want to walk.

Disappointed
We have stayed here before and been happy but we were in the main building. This time we found ourselves in the annex which was small and rather cramped. The room was poorly lit with only table lamps, no overhead light. Despite the booking being the same price and not mentioning the annex it's was no where near as nice as the main building.
We were shocked that they wanted to charge us £18.00 for overnight parking, as we hadn’t booked direct with them. At no time did I read this before I went
