unique interior and exterior…everything looks perfect until sleeping time…no sleeping,filings are like you are on the street and trying to sleep and right next to you passing cars and trucks…never again

Some of the nicest and friendliest staff you will come across. Unfortunately the rooms are so close to the motorway and the doors are just basic timber doors with no seal, so you can hear every single vehicle very clearly. It's very annoying, thankfully I was able to get to sleep all right.

I highly recommend. The staff welcomed us and treated us like family. Beautiful surroundings, private and very accomodating. We will be returing. If I could give more stars I would.

TOO NOISE!! Can't hardly sleep, especially at night, the walls are too thin. Continental Breakfast is a scam only six, one inch pieces of fruit, coffee and two slices of toasted bread. Eating in the hotel restaurant it's way to expensive. Even though, the staff is very care and attentive especially Lygi, Will, Luis and the rest of them.

For this to be an exotic resort I can appreciate but it’s going to take a lot of love to build it back up after the horrible storm hits it’s taken

The property was damaged my the hurricane which destroyed everything on the resort with the exception of the lobby area and rooms. The beach, spa, outdoor bar and part of the roof top area were badly damaged. You can hear traffic from the nearby road all night in your room. The room also had mosquitoes everywhere. We had to spray ourselves and the bed in order to sleep.

The location was very close to the airport and had an amazing view from the sixth floor pool and bar. The staff was amazing from check in to checkout. Unfortunately the outside areas still are suffering from storm damage from the hurricanes last year. The property is amazing and obviously they can't control what happened and they are undergoing repairs.

Akuazul is unique and exotic. I've never stayed at a place quite like it. The themed decor was a fusion of Mayan, Hindu and weaved basketry. It was dreamlike. I think it must have been beautiful in its prime. I'm not sure if there was a hurricane or just the passage of time, but the place has a dilapidated appearance. The "beach" area is in a state of disrepair and basically not usable. Also the road is quite noisy. Our room was beautiful and clean. The food at the restaurant was delicious. It was an interesting experience. I'm so glad we stayed there once for a unique and exotic experience, but I wouldn't choose that location again for a future visit to Cancun.

My boyfriend and I had a blast staying here! The staff were so friendly and welcomed us with open arms. They were very selfless and helped us in any way they could without expecting anything in return. We saw lots of wildlife on the property, which was pretty cool. THE BEST PART: they cleaned the room EVERYDAY!!! They swapped the bed sheets, the comforter, and the pillow cases, towels, and went above and beyond by also sweeping and mopping the floors in our room. They kept it CLEAN. Another underrated part, are the pools (the rooftop pool, and the long pool on the base floor). During our stay there weren’t a lot of people here, but that’s is what made it so awesome, total privacy, and it really felt like we were being personally catered to. Although this property is pretty noisy because it is near a road, it only stays noisy from 10pm to about 1am, and honestly it’s not that bad. Anytime before or after that it is pretty calm! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE!!! We hopefully plan on coming back to this property soon!

This resort has seen better times. Almost everything at this resort is made of wood. It's stunning!...or at least it used to be. Over half of the amenities have been destroyed by weather or storm. Everything is falling apart. Only one small restaurant remains. Until they make major repairs think of it as very limited.
