NO AIR-CONDITIONING ALL WEEK!! We have stayed at this property 5 or 6 times now. It used to be a really nice place with great service and decent food. Now the management has gone CHEAP! They have cut every corner including fixing the AC. Also the food is not good except the breakfast is still okay mostly because of Gamaliel and Oscar they work so hard to make everyone happy!! Only 2 restaurants open for dinner now and they are not good. Cheap food. Also no security gate or guard at the entrance which makes it unsafe, anyone can walk in.No mini fridge only in select rooms now? I've never not had a fridge in my room here before? Only one elevator working and not even trying to get the other up and running. The other one went down and you have to walk the stairs, not good for the olded crowd. Its a shame we really liked this place. I'd look elsewhere if i were you. There's a reason it's less expensive than all the other resorts. Disappointing for sure

the place was a bit outdated but the people are what really makes the stay enjoyable. from reading other reviews i thought it was not gonna be that good but i had a great experience there and the bartender jose was amazing!

The property does need a lot of updating. The staff were very attentive. I’m a big believer in you get what you pay for and this property is a budget property but worth what they charge.

The air-conditioning in the room did not work and we didn't have hot water for the first 3 days . The whole resort has black mold and water damage everywhere . Also only 2 of the restaurant where open the first 2 days we where at the resort. Im very disappointed yhis vacation was for my husband 50th birthday.

WORST RESORT IVE EVER STAYED IN!!!!!
not sure where to start. upon check in we were told that in order to have beer in our room daily it was an extra charge of 20 dollars which is odd for an all inclusive resort and thru the stay it was a huge hassle to get it delivered. Then when trying to order room service phones weren't working which we were not told until numerous attempts to call then had to go down to the front desk to ask what was going on. the room barely has any outlets and the wifi is an absolute joke. speed was only 5mbps up and down if we were lucky. ac in the room was a joke as well as it never got below 75 degrees F. the shower had Luke warm water at best but acceptable due to the hot room and the sink had higher water pressure. a couple times I thought the shower was literally just going to shut off the water pressure was so low. the second day I asked for water to get delivered and was told that normally it is a 2 dollar charger per bottle but as a special deal they weren't going to charge me. again very unusual for an all inclusive resort. I go to Cancun 5- 7 times a year for work and this was my first time staying here and I can say that after the first 3 hours being at this resort I knew it would be my last

The best part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone seems happy and super nice. The hotel itself is kind of old and needs a renovation, some of the food options in the restaurants were running out but the staff is so nice that I definitely will come back. There is a community vibe there that I loved it.

Had to switch to different room, no electricity for 24 hours so no air conditioning/no lights/couldn't charge our phones/no WiFi - second night staff went on strike and was left alone for over two hours - was a free for all lol… but staff in the end was very nice! Place could use a little updating - chairs in lounge areas had holes, tlc good idea. WiFi never really worked good. But still liked the staff… not afraid to go back and travel agent there was wonderful help -thx

First of all the service and staff was incredible. However, the facilities need a lot of attention. There was no Air Conditioner in the entire hotel. The Wifi was on and off. We spent 2 days without internet. The phones (land lines) in the rooms did not work at all, not even tone. The food was ok, not a big deal. The specialty restaurants did not have everything listed on the menu. One night we went to the Asian restaurant and they did no have any sushi listed on the menu. The building it self needs repairing and painting. The towels on the pool were ragged. I would not recommend anyone looking for an All Inclusive experience to come here.

Just got back yesterday. We enjoyed our trip up until there was a power outage, which was not fixed in a decent amount of time. Aside from the electric issue, I still wouldn't rebook this hotel again. We had a good trip (because like everyone said, the staff were amazing and the beach is beautiful); however, the lack of ala carte food options was disappointing (only 2 options for dinner every night) and the maintenance of the resort seemed to be next to non-existent. There was literally no night entertainment. If I could re-do my booking, I probably would. There were too many other options available for around the same price range.

where to start. 10 years ago this was a gem. the last few trips has been steady decline. on Wednesday the staff went on strike. no food at a all inclusive on 2 nites no water in the room 2 days no hot water all 11 days phone in the room did not work. breaker for the lights popped 2 different times. tried to check out 0n day 2 they said there would be no refunds!!! the only way this is still open is the house staff they are the best. pay them! sadly this will be my last trip to the golden. way to distroy a hidden gem.
