This is the sixth time we have stayed here, and I have to say it will be the last. We have seen a steady decline in this ‘resort’ to the point where there is little to set it apart from everywhere else. It is definitely no longer ‘5 star’ for sure. They have closed down so many areas…Spanish restaurant and ‘speakeasy’ bar closed, Thai restaurant closed, lunch beach walk restaurant has been closed off and on. Only remaining bar was so busy (with no staff) that we could t order a drink..just left. Last night had to go to neighboring Marriot and use an all inclusive restaurant which are not the same level. Sir, it is ‘off season’ at every request for an explanation…really? Not off season for me, prime season and cost! Maybe they are bleeding cash with their refurb next door and switching to all inclusive. Prefer they do a ‘save the JW’ go fund me than shut down all the facilities for the guests!! Very disappointed.

I want to personally thank the entire staff at JW Marriott Resort and Spa Cancun. I have stayed at multiple Hotels around the World and thus far I haven't been Impressed to make this Statement that everyone was Amazing from the Hotel staff to grounds keeper and Waiter's, Bells men and Concierge and everyone connected to this property. Even down to going to other restaurants in the area and given even more excellent service because we were guess at JW Marriott Resort and Spa. understanding that excellence must continue. This type of service reenforces why I'm a loyal Marriot Bonvoy member. I have to give a special thanks to Andrea for making my wife's Birthday unforgettable and Amazing contacting the flowers and decorating the room with Birthday signs and strawberries and making it feel like she was the most important person on her birthday while ensuring those memories will never be forgotten. Also appreciating Fabiola's commitment to detail and service making sure I had everything I needed from transportation to things we could do during our stay. JW Marriott Resort and spa got it Right...Every employee and staff should be called out and given a Big Job Well Done and I look forward to returning again very soon. They were doing major remodeling in the room across the hall and making a lot of noise. I cant imagine why they would put a guest in the room adjacent to that noise. The manager did agree to move my room but it was incredibly aggravating and inconvenient to move. Parts of the hotel may be under construction. the elevators did not work one night. The room furnishings are a bit tired and in need of upgrade for the price of the rooms. Service at the lobby bar was not good, at least for me. Perhaps I didn't pay close enough attention but there were a few add on fees. Just tell me what the room costs and stop with the resort and other fees. The grounds are nice and well maintained but for the money I would not recommend.

Now I'm not one to lie so believe me when I tell you this, the staff at this resort was extraordinary!! they were so incredibly nice and took notice to every little detail about our stay. They gave us tips and tricks into how we could enjoy our vacation even more and put an immense amount of effort into every thing they did. Overall, it was an 11/10 experience. I will definitely return!
